Guest Book

This is the guest book I made for my friend's wedding reception. She wanted something different than the usual guest book you see at weddings. When I asked what she wanted she said she wanted something like a yearbook, where people can write well wishes or congratulations. So I made this 8"x8" book and bound it with my Cinch. I used Life is a Beach and Pack Your Bags for all the cuts. I then embellished them with Stickles, glossy accents, crackle accents, glitter, chalk, ink and markers.

Guest Designer at My Sheri Crafts

I am honored to have been selected as the Guest Designer for this week's challenge at My Sheri Crafts! This week's challenge is to create something Summer or Beach Themed.

I created this 8 1/2"x11" layout for the challenge. The background paper is from K&Company. It was a 12"x12" piece of paper that I trimmed to fit. I cut a piece of brown cardstock 8 1/2" long then hand cut it to look like some sand. I ran it through my Xyron sticker maker then covered it with some smoky quartz glitter by Martha Stewart. The photo is 4"x6" and matted twice with blue cardstocks. The light glittery blue cardstock is cut at 4 1/4"x6 1/4" and the dark turquoise one is cut at 4 1/2"x6 1/2." I used All Mixed Up to cut the "beach" sentiment. It is cut at 1 1/2" and I used my Gypsy to weld it. I used Cricut Keystone to cut the B & Y in "boy." They are cut at 1 3/4." I used Pack Your Bags to cut the beach ball for the O in "boy." It is also cut at 1 3/4." I covered the red, blue and yellow pieces with glossy accents. I also used pop-dots to adhere the beach ball to the page, the rest of the title is just adhered onto the paper. The sandcastle is cut at 2 3/4" from Life is a Beach. I added some x-mas red Stickles to the flags. The shovel and pail is from Simply Charmed, I just didn't use the face. It is cut at 2 1/4." I used some diamond Stickles on the white piece on the pail and some glossy accents on the rest of the pail. The photo is the son of a friend of mine. I met her in when I lived in Alaska and was there when her son was born. They now live in Georgia (her husband is in the Army), so she sends me photo updates of the little guy and I just loved this one!

Card Creations & More Challenge #12

Challenge #12 at Card Creations & More by C this week! The challenge this week is to create something patriotic. I decided to create a layout for some pictures of a 4th of July parade that I saw while living in North Pole, Alaska.

This is a double page layout, each page is 12"x12." I used a dark blue cardstock for the base layer, then cut some red and white plaid paper at 10 3/4"x10 3/4" for the next layer. I matted the four photos, which are all 4"x6," with white carsdtock, cut at 4 1/8"x6 1/8." The white are for the journaling is cut at 8 1/8"x4." I then matted it with some red cardstock cut at 8 1/4"x4 1/8" and blue cardstock cut at 8 1/2"x4 1/4." The title is from Graphically Speaking and actually cut at 3/4," turned out pretty large though. It's acutual measurements when cut is 2 3/16" (for the July at least). I added glossy accents to the "July" and x-mas red Stickles to the "fourth of." The three stars are from a Marvy Uchida punch, I used pop-dots to adhere them and x-mas red, midnight blue and crystal Stickles on them. I drew in my journaling lines with a dark blue marker, then actually journaled with a red marker. The Uncle Sam hat is from Independance Day, cut at 3." I used pop-dots to adhere it as well. The little boy on the firecracker is from A Child's Year and cut at 2 1/2." I cut the shadow layer with the dark blue cardstock, then the regular layer with white cardstock. I added some crystal Stickles to him.

Wedding Invitations

My best friend is getting married in Belize on June 17th. I am going to be down there for it, since I am her maid-of-honor. However, I still wanted to share with you all some creations. I made the invitations for her wedding. She and her fiancee picked the colors and sent me a rough idea of what they wanted. I then modified it and drew out a template. When it is all folded up the invite is 4 1/4"x5 1/2." I used Designer's Calendar to cut the rings, which I then ran through my Xyron to make them into stickers...made it a lot easier to put together. I used the computer to print out all the wording and the map.

Blue Jay

My mom requested that I make a card for her to give to a friend of hers. They give each other blue jay stuff, so she wanted a card with a blue bird on it. I have a card I made a while back with a red bird on it, it looks like a cardinal. She wanted something similar to that card, so I basically copied it...guessing on the sizes though since I don't know them anymore. You can see the original card here.

The card is 5"x7" and made of white cardstock. I cut some black cardstock 4 1/2"x6 1/2" then cut some blue cardstock 1/8" smaller. I cut some white cardstock at 4 1/4"x5 3/4," then used a Fiskars border punch on the bottom of it and ran it through my Cuttlebug with the Leafy Branch folder. I cut the bird from Winter Woodland at 3 1/2." I then added some white and black ink to make it look more like a blue jay than just a blue cardinal. I also gave him a black pearl for his eye. I cut a strip of black cardstock and a strip of blue cardstock and adhered it over the middle of the card. I used the computer to create the front sentiment, then matted it with blue and black. For the inside of the card I cut some black cardstock at 4 3/4"x6 3/4." I then cut some blue cardstock 1/8" smaller than the black and some white cardstock 1/8" smaller than the blue. I also cut a strip of black and a strip of blue cardstock and adhered it near the top of the card. I used a stamp from My Pink Stamper for the sentiment on the inside, then matted it with some blue and black cardstock. I think it will be just what she is looking for.

Wedding Cake

This is a wedding cake shaped card inspired by the word "frosting." That is the challenge for Day 103 at 365 Cards...to be inspired by the word frosting and create a card using that inspiration. I used my Gypsy to weld two of the cakes from Tie the Knot. They are 4 1/2" and I used the shadow feature. I cut a blackout version from black cardstock, then cut all the layers in white. I added some Martha Stewart sugar cube glitter onto the cake stand. I also embossed the cake layers with D'vine Swirls, then drew over the swirls with white opal Liquid Pearls. That's all there is to it! Enjoy!!

Two Souls...

This is a 5"x7" card. I used black cardstock for the base, then cut some pink cardstock 1/8" smaller than the black and some white cardstock 1/8" smaller than the pink. I cut a 3 3/4" black circle, a 3 1/2" pink circle and a 3 1/4" white circle. I used that to place my clear gem swirls, then adhered the circles to the card base. I stamped my sentiment, which is from Fiskars, onto the white circle using black Statz-On ink. I added two butterfly dimensional stickers to the circles. I finished it off with three flowers, which I sparyed pink with some cadillac pink Glimmer Mist. I added the black brads to the centers of the flowers before adhering them down.

I made this card for Day 102's challenge at 365 Cards, which is to use many design elements but to keep as few of them from overlapping as possible. I also made this using the pink, black and white color challenge at Paper Cutz.

Tree

This card is 4 1/4"x5 1/2." I used white cardstock for the base of the card. I then cut a piece of yellow cardstock 1/8" smaller than the card base. I embossed it using the Birds & Swirls embossing folder. The tree is cut from Straight From the Nest at 3." I cut two ovals from George and Basic Shapes. The blue one is cut at 4 1/2" and the white one is cut at 4 1/4." I adhered the tree onto the ovals, then added the sentiment. I used aloe vera ink by Tsukineko for the sentiment. I cut two rectangles, one from blue and one from white. The blue one is cut at 3 7/8"x2" and the white one is cut at 3 5/8"x 1 3/4." I wrapped them with a green ribbon, then tied another piece of it in a bow and attached it to the wrapped piece. I adhered it to the card base, then attached my ovals. I finished it off with some green bling on the ribbon.

For Me?!

Day 99 at 365 Cards is to make a birthday card that you would want to recieve if one was designed just for you. I was having a hard time narrowing down just exactly what I wanted to do, until I saw the challenge at Cooking with Cricut. Their challenge is "Pick Your Poison," to use your favorite cartridge and favorite color to create your project. I decided to combine these two challenges and came up with this birthday card that I would love to get!
Simply Charmed is one of my favorite cartridges, there are just so many cute images on it. My favorite one is the penguin! I used the penguin to create a shaped card. Using my Gypsy I welded two shadow images of the penguin and cut it out of glittery black cardstock. The penguin is cut at 5." I created the rest of the penguin with regular cardstock. One of my favorite colors is blue, so I used that for the party hat, candle and stamping on the banner. I used Paper Pups for the party hat, the regular and solid feature, it is cut at 2 3/4." The banner is cut at 3 1/2" from Jubilee. I stamped the sentiment on there and added some dots of midnight blue Stickles. The cupcake is from Doodlecharms and cut at 2 1/2." I embossed the icing layer with D'vine Swirls, then drew over the swirls with liquid pearls. I used glossy accents on his beak and the candle, crackle accents on his feet and some yellow Stickles on the candle flame. How much fun is this card?! I love it!!

Rose Wedding Card

This beautiful wedding card is 4 1/4"x5 1/2." I used black cardstock for the base. I cut three strips of silver cardstock at 1 3/4"x4 1/8," then embossed them using my Cuttlebug and the Textile embossing folder. The flourished rose was cut from Celebrate with Flourish at 3 3/4." I stamped the senitment, which is from Fiskars, using galaxy black ink by Tsukineko on some white cardstock and trimmed it down. I cut the two mats, red and black, 1/8" larger than the previous layer. The rose is adhered to the card base and the sentiment is adhered using foam tape. I added four pieces of red bling to the corners of the sentiment and six pearls to the vase of the rose to finish it all off.

Campin' Critters Bigfoot

Here is another Father's Day card using Campin' Critters...I told you I love the cuts on this cartridge! This card is 5"x5" and I used dark brown cardstock for the base. I cut some leaf patterned paper at 4 3/4"x4 3/4" and adhered it to the card. I then cut a dark brown strip of cardstock 5"x1 1/2" and some tan cardstock at 5"x1 1/4." I stamped a woodgrain pattern on the tan cardstock, using walnut stain ink by Tim Holtz. Bigfoot is cut from Campin' Critters at 3 1/2." I used a Fiskars stamp and the same ink for the sentiment on the front of the card. For the inside of the card I cut some tan cardstock at 4 3/4"x4 3/4" and some corners from the leaf patterned paper and adhered them down. I used my Gypsy to weld the letters to create the "big guy" sentiment. They are cut from Cuttin' Up and the whole sentiment is 2" tall.

Campin' Critters Eagle

This card is 4 1/2"x6 1/4." I used white cardstock for the base, then cut some red cardstock 1/8" smaller and some blue star patterned paper 1/8" smaller than the red and adhered them all together. The flag is cut from Graphically Speaking at 3 1/2" using the real dial size feature. I cut out the white layer regularly, then cut two flags using the blackout feature (one in red and one in blue). I trimmed the blue flag so that it was just the square, adhered it over the red layer and put it all together. I then used some star dust Stickles on the white layer of the flag for some glimmer. The eagle is cut from Campin' Critters at 3." I flocked his head (the white layer) and used crackle accents on his feet and glossy accents on his beak. I used my Gypsy to cut his sash so that I could hide all the circle cuts within it. I added some red, white and blue bling on his sash instead.

Campin' Critters Snake

This card is 4 1/2"x6 1/4." I used brown cardstock for the base. I cut some red cardstock at 4 1/4"x6" and some green plaid paper at 4"x5 3/4" and adhered them to the card base. The snake is cut from Campin' Critters at 2 1/2." I thought he was just too cute! Actually, I think most of the cuts on this cartridge are too cute!! I used glossy accents on the darker green layer and I added some cinnamon Stickles to his eyes. The cloud is from Pooh and Friends, cut at 2." I stamped the sentiment on the cloud, using red brick ink by Tskukineko. The stamp is from My Pink Stamper. I also did some doodling around the edges of the cloud. I used brown cardstock for the shadows of both the snake and the cloud. I used pop-dots to adhere the cloud to the card. A nice and simple Father's Day card...way to get ahead of the game!

Embossed Flower

This pretty purple card is 4 1/2"x6 1/4." I used dark purple cardstock for the card base, then cut some white glitter cardstock 1/4" smaller. I cut two strips of light purple cardstock, one at 1 1/8"x5" and one at 1 3/8"x5," and one strip of silver cardstock, cut at 1 1/2"x5." I embossed all three with the Floral Fantasy folder then adhered them to the card with small spaces between them. I stamped my sentiment using silver ink and added the four silver pearls in the corners. I used Mother's Day Bouquet for the circles, the purple one is cut at 2 1/2" and the white one is cut at 2 1/4." I also used Mother's Day Bouquet for the flower. I cut the layers at 1 3/4," 1 1/4" and 3/4." I embossed all the layers with the Victoria embossing folder. I then curled the edges and mounted it to the card. I finished it off by adding some silver pearls to the center of the flower.I made this card for the following challenges:

Bus Tour

The challenge at Whimsical Wednesday this week is to create a summer layout and include some stamping on it. Well, since I am still working on the scrapbook for my summer trip to Sweden I thought I would create a layout for the scrapbook that also fit this challenge. This is a layout of the bus tour we took. My stamping on the page is the faces of each passenger on the bus and the date. The page is 12"x12." I used a piece of patterned cardstock from DCWV, the Doodlin' Around Stack. The pictures are both 4"x6" and matted with shimmery dark green cardstock, cut 1/8" larger. The bus was cut from Summer Vacation at 2." I then cut six 1/2" circles from George and Basic Shapes. I gave them each a different Peachy Keen face. The title, "Bus Tour," is cut from Jubilee at 1 1/2." The sun is from Doodlecharms and cut at 3." I also cut a brown sun using the shadow feature. I used the sun for my journalling and used some Inkadinkado stamps for the date. They are stamped in jumbo java ink by Tsukineko.

You're a Peach

This card was cut from Wild Card at 5 1/4" tall. It's actual dimensions are 5 1/4"x3 13/16." I used white cardstock for the base. I then cut the first part of the argyle pattern from a shimmery green cardstock. The final layer of the argyle pattern is cut from a pink cardstock. I layerd them all together and then added some orange corners that I found while rummaging through my stash of stuff. I thought they were the perfect accent for this card. I also cut the orange "thanks" sentiment from Wild Card. It is also cut at 5 1/4," cut it's actual height is about 1/2." The middle sentiment, "thank you," is a rub-on. The final "thanks" is stickers. I then stamped, "you're a peach." It is a My Pink Stamper stamp and I used pink grapefruit ink by Tsukineko. The peach is a Cottage Cutz die by Peachy Keen. I flocked the peach, because a peach has to be fuzzy! I used foam tape to adhere the "you're a peach" sentiment. Everything else is just adhered straight to the card.

Card Creations & More Challenge #11

It is So Saturday Challenge time at Card Creations & More by C! This week for challenge #11 we are making shaped cards!

I cut the beehive at 5," using my Gypsy to weld the shadows together. I then cut the regular layer with the yellow patterned paper. I cut the other layer of the beehive with some glittery black Core'dinations cardstock. I then cut the bee at 2." I used some yellow Stickles on the stripes on its back and some glossy accents on the black parts of it. I used pop-dots to adhere it to the card. I then added some bling for its little flying trail. I stamped the sentiment on a scalloped circle and matted it with a larger scalloped circle. The beehive and bee are both cut from Sentimentals and the scalloped circles are a Fiskars punch.

Hoo's Having a Birthday

This is a 6"x6" card. I made the card base from white cardstock, which I then completely covered with the patterned paper. I loved the pattern on it and thought it was perfect for my card. It was already 6"x6" and I didn't want to cut it, so I just made the card that big and covered up the whole front with the paper. I love how it looks. The cute little owl is from Create a Critter, cut at 2," and I used a Peachy Keen Stamp for the face. I just LOVE this little face!! I colored in the beak using an orange marker and used a white gel pen for the dots on the eyes. The sentiment is from Hoot 'n' Holler, cut at 2 1/4." I used a bunch of primary colored buttons on this one and used pop-dots to adhere my owl. I think it is the perfect little kid's card.

Chocolate Cake

This is a 5"x5" card. I used white cardstock for the base. I cut some brown cardstock at 4 3/4"x4 3/4" and then embossed it with one of the Once Upon a Princess companion folders & my Cuttlebug. I used the debossed side to actually display. I cut the cake out four times at 4 1/2." Once in white, using the shadow feature and three times in brown. I then cut the stand in a shimmery white cardstock. I adhered the shadow feature to the card base, then one of the brown cakes to the shadow. I then adhered the cake stand on. I cut off the cake stand on the other two cakes and embossed one with the D'vine Swirls folder. I then used pop-dots to adhere each cake on top of the previous one. I then used cinnamon Stickles on the swirls of my embossed cake for some glitz. I finished it off with some brown gems on the cake stand. Enjoy!I made this card for the following challenges:

Spider

This card is 4 1/2"x6 1/4." I used olive green cardstock for the card base. I then cut a piece of striped orange cardstock to 4 1/4"x6" and adhered it tot he card base. The circle is cut from white cardstock at 2 3/4." I then sponged it with some night sky ink by Tsukineko. I also distressed the edges of it as well. The spider is cut at 2 1/2" from Wrap It Up. I added some crackle accents to his back for texture. I used a Bazzil template to create the swirls, which I then stitched with dark blue embroidery floss. Once the swirls were stitched I adhered the cirlce over the top of them. I then added my spider and finished it all off with the stamp. I stamped it five times in the same night sky ink. I also finished off the inside of the card. I cut some dark orange cardstock at 4 1/4"x6" and then some white cardstock at 4"x5 3/4." I again sponged night sky ink around the edges of the white cardstock to tie the front and inside together.
