Heaven Sent

I even managed to make a second card tonight!  Here it is:



This card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4."  I used a blue cardstock for the card base.  I cut some blue and green argyle cardstock at 5 3/8"x4 1/8" and adhered it to the card base.  I then cut some more blue cardstock at 3 1/2"x4 3/4" and adhered it the the card base.  I used Baby Steps to cut my sleeping baby at 2."  I flocked the onesie and hat, added a little chalk to his cheeks and glossy accents to his eyes and nose.  I adhered it to the card with foam tape.  I used a stamp from Scrappy Moms Stamps for my sentiment and matted it with the blue and the argyle cardstocks.  It was adhered to the card base normally.  I then used George and Basic Shapes for all the stars.  They are cut at 1/4" and 1/2."  I adhered them around the card.

 

I made this for the "Day 1" challenge at 365 Cards, which is "new beginnings" - new baby, wedding, new house, etc.  As you can see, I went with new baby.  Enjoy!

A Little Someone New

This shaped card turned out really cute! I used Baby Steps to cut the little toy, twice, at 6." I then adhered the heads together and folded it at the neck. I cut it again in the dark green and cut off just the antennae. I adhered all the layers down and gave it a Peachy Keen face. I added some freckles and chalked the cheeks for some "blush." I also covered the eyes in glossy accents for some shine. I tied two pieces of floss into bows and adhered them to the base of the antennae. I used Stickles on the bulbs of the antennae and the dots on the base of the toy. The antennae have mystic green Stickles and I used pink and cotton candy Stickles on the dots of the toy base. I used a Scrappy Moms stamp for the sentiment, then finished off the card with strings of pearls between each layer of the toy.

Baby Girl

My husband's cousin just recently had a baby girl. I just got her announcement in the mail today and thought I should make her a card. Better late than never right? :)

This card is 5"x7." The patterned paper I used is from the Flower Shower Spring Stack by DCWV. The little girl is from Baby Steps, cut at 2." I used the D'vine Swirls embossing folder for the mat that the little girl is on. I added flocking to the cloud and glossy accents to the moon. I put two different types of ribbon behind the mat, a pink satin ribbon and a yellow grosgrain ribbon. I stamped my sentiment in rich cocoa ink by Tsukineko. I finished off the card with a star shaped button that I covered in yellow Stickles.

Duckie Onesie

This cute little card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4." I used an ivory cardstock for the card base, then cut some green cardstock 1/8" smaller. I then cut some bird patterned cardstock 1/8" smaller than the green cardstock. I cut a strip of green cardstock 4"x1 3/4" and some yellow cardstock at 4"x1 1/2." I used a Martha Stewart border punch on both pieces, then wrapped them with some yellow ribbon. I cut the onesie from Everday Pop-Up Cards at 3 1/2." I embossed the light yellow part of the onesie with the Swiss Dots embossing folder. The little duckie is cut from Baby Steps. It is actually the layer for the safety pin cut on that cartridge. It is cut at 2" which makes the duck about 1" real size. I covered the duckie in yellow glitter, added some glossy accents to the wing and beak and gave it a gem for an eye. I used pop-dots to adhere the onesie to the card. For the inside of the card I stamped both the sentiment and the little chick in yellow ink, then embossed them with clear embossing powder.

Flaunt It Fridays Challenge #23

It is time for another Flaunt It Fridays challenge! I hope you all enjoyed the Friday the 13th Blog Hop last week. This week's challenge is to flaunt the Pooh Font Set cartridge, specifically the Tigger with the ducky cut.
I knew I wanted to make a scrapbook layout for a baby's bath time with this cut. The page is 12"x12." I used some Debbie Mumm cardstock for the background. Tigger and the ducky are cut at 4." I also used the Pooh in the washtub cut for the page, I thought it worked nicely. He is cut at 3 1/2." The title is from Baby Steps, cut at 2 3/4." I cut three photo mats. The largest one is meant for a 4"x4" picture, with the blue mat cut 1/8" larger and the black mat at 4 1/4"x4 1/4." The two smaller mats are for 3"x3" picutres; the blue mat is 1/8" larger and the black mat is 3 1/4"x3 1/4." I added glossy accents to all the water and star dust Stickles to all the bubbles to finish off this page.
