Superstar

Today's card was super fast to put together and super simple.  It only took me about 15-20 minutes to put together.

The card base is 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and made of black card stock.  I used a star stencil and white ink to create my background.  The stars are all dies from Jaded Blossom, the Star Dies set.  I used foam tape to pop up the gold star, which adds a nice pop to the black and white.  The sentiment is also from Jaded Blossom, the Superstar stamp set.

The gold mat is 4 1/2"x3 1/4."  The white mat is 4 1/4"x3."  I used more stamps from Jaded Blossom for the sentiment.  The "happy birthday" is from So Many Birthdays and the "Superstar" is from Superstar.

Fin-tastic Mermaid Tail

The card base is called Trapezoid Card Base, from SVG Cutting Files.  I used the "Everyday Paper Dolls" cartridge for the sand.

The waves were created using the "Give a Hoot" Cricut cartridge.  I used the slice and weld features of Cricut Design Space to make the wave shaped mats and cut them out of light blue card stock and vellum.  I used wild honey and orange marmalade Distress Ink on the edge of the yellow mat to give it a sunset appearance.

The seaweed is from the "Pirates and Mermaids" cartridge.

The mermaid is also from SVG Cutting Files, it is one of the Mermaid Tails cut file.  I embossed the tail with one of the Animal Print embossing folders by Cuttlebug and the fin of her tail with the Herringbone embossing folder.  The sentiment is from the Under the Sea stamp set by Jaded Blossom.

The sentiment on the inside of the card is from the Supersize Birthday Greetings stamp set and the fish is from the Fish On stamp set.  Both are also from Jaded Blossom.

Mermaid

The card base is a step card made using a cut file from SVG Cutting Files.  It is called Center Step Edged Curved Card Base.  I cut the white circle with one of the Stitched Circle Dies from Jaded Blossom.  I then cut the grey layer with a Spellbinders die called Picot Edge Circles.  The waves are from the "ZooBalloo" Cricut cartridge.  I used some diamond Stickles on the white caps of the waves.  I used some blue, grey, and white sequins to finish off the card.

The mermaid and sentiment on the circle are from the Mermaid Kisses stamp set by Jaded Blossom.  I colored the image with Distress Ink markers by Tim Holtz.  I then added some Wink of Stella to the blue of her hair and her tail.  I also used some glossy accents on her eyes.

The seashell is from the "Sea Shells" digital cartridge.  The sea weed is from the "Splish Splash" cartridge.

The sentiment on the side part of the step card is also from Jaded Blossom.  The "happy birthday" part is from the So Many Birthdays 2 stamp set and the "from under the sea" is from the Mermaid Kisses stamp set.

Garden Fairy

I worked on a home decor project instead of a card today.

I used a 10"x10" basswood canvas and painted its edges brown.  I then cut out my scene and adhered it to the canvas.  The entire scene is from a digital Cricut cartridge called "Dimensional Scenes - Fairy Tales."  I cut it at 10."  I used foam tape on the fairy, some of the grass, and two of the butterflies.  The butterflies are from the "Kate's ABCs" cartridge.  I hid the face on the fairy and used a stamp from Peachy Keen instead.  It is from the Black Eyed Peaches Face Assortment.  I added a little detail with a white gel pen.  I finished this piece off with some enamel dots for the flower centers, Wink of Stella on the butterfly wings, and dark blue Stickles on the blue of the fairy wings.

I made this for the following challenges:

Party 'til the Cows Come Home!

Here is a fun cascade card for you all!

I used the Cricut cartridge "Crazy Cool Cards" to make this card.  I have never made a cascade card before, but this makes is super easy.  It is about 5 1/2" tall.

I used Jaded Blossoms for the sentiments, the banner, and the white squares.  The banner is from the Dimensional Banner Dies set and the squares are from Card Mat Dies.  The sentiments are from the Party Animal and Udderly Adorable sets.

May the Force Be With You

In honor of May the 4th, I decided to do some Star Wars crafts.  I know that I am eking it out a bit on timing, but I had to do some studying this morning and only got to crafting in the afternoon.  And the t-shirt took a while to dry.

I found a super cool image of Kylo Ren from a side view and turned it into a cut file.  I then cut it out at about 14" tall from freezer paper.  I used that as a stencil and ironed it on to a black t-shirt.  I then used grey fabric paint to paint the shirt.  It looks more white in the photo, but the light wasn't great.

I then made a cute birthday card featuring BB-8.  The card is the Trapezoid Card Base from SVG Cutting Files.  The sand is from the "Best of Pixar" Disney Cricut cartridge.  I inked all the edges with vintage photo Distress Ink, then popped up the front layer.  I also trimmed the edges to fit the curve of the card.  BB-8 is an svg that I got from Krafty Nook.  Doesn't he look awesome?!  I used foam tape on his head for a little more dimension.

The sentiment is from the Robotastic stamp set by Jaded Blossom.

A Toast to You!

Here is a cute little card for you tonight:

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and made of dark brown card stock.  All the mats are cut using Jaded Blossom dies.  The gingham paper is cut using the Card Mat Dies, the pink and green dotted strips are cut using the Panel Dies, and the white mat is from the Goody Bag Die.

The sentiment is also from Jaded Blossom.  The first part is from the You Go Together Like, which was a freebie that went with the March 2016 release.  The "toast and jam" part is from the We Go Together Like 2 stamp set.

The toast and jam jar are cut files from Lettering Delights.  They are part of the Toasty set.  I hid their faces and used a Peachy Keen stamp for their faces instead.  I used the largest faces from the In the Garden Babies set.  I inked around the edges of the green pieces for the jar top with crushed olive Distress Ink and around the light colored part of the toast with tea dye Distress Ink.  I also added some shading to their cheeks with some pink chalk.  I cut the bow off the brown piece that looks like the twine and used a Jaded Blossom die from the Bow Dies set to make the bow.

I used more Jaded Blossom dies and stamps for the inside of the card also.  All the dies are from the Card Mat Dies set.  The sentiments are both from the You Go Together Like freebie.

Rainbow of Butterflies

I decided to make a card set using a rainbow of colors, one for each card.  I'm just missing yellow, but I don't have a good selection of yellow chalk-type ink, which is what I used for these, so I made do without.  There are still seven in all, so I think missing yellow is probably fine.

The cards are all 5 1/2"x4 1/4."  I used both dies and stamps from Jaded Blossom to create them.  The white mats are cut using the Card Mat Dies.  I stamped my sentiment, from Love & Kindness, in black ink at the bottom.  I then embossed them with the Cherry Blossom embossing folder by Darice.  The colored scalloped circles are cut using the Scallop Circle Dies and the white circle is from the Stitched Circle Dies.  I used the Butterflies stamp set and stamped the outline in black.  I then used the stamp for the interior part and used three different colors for the wings.  I went from light to dark, each in the color of the card, to get a slight variegated look.  I used chalk-type ink, from Tsukineko, for a softer feel.
