My cousin's daughter is turning 1 this month and his wife emailed me a little while ago asking if I would make the invites and some of the party decor. I agreed and this is everything I made for it.
This 4 1/4"x5 1/2" card is what I made for her actual birthday card. I embossed the red layer with one of the Simply Charmed companion folders. The sentiment is computer generated. I used one of my Nesties to create the label. I sprayed a Prima flower with shimmer mist and used a yellow brad as the center. The ladybug is from Doodlecharms, cut at 2." I then doodled around the labels and the ladybug, gave it some google eyes and added glossy accents to the back of the ladybug.
This is the invite that I made for the party. I had created a variety and this is the one she liked the best. It is 9"x4." I embossed the red layer with the Simply Charmed companion folder. I used my computer to create the party info. The daisy is from Picturesque, cut at 3;" the leaves are from Mother's Day Boquet, cut at 2;" and the ladybug is from Doodlecharms, cut at 1 3/4." I stamped the "you're invited" and added some red Stickles to the hearts on either side of it.
The banner was cut using Birthday Bash for the scalloped and regular circles. They are cut at 6." The font is from Storybook, cut at 4 1/4." The ladybugs are from Doodlecharms, cut at 4 1/2." I added google eyes and some doodling. The daisy is cut from Picturesque at 4 1/4." I embossed the center of the daisy with Swiss Dots.
She also requested a "Pin the Spot on the Ladybug" game. I used some green posterboard for the base of the game. I then cut a daisy from Picturesque as large as I could. I placed it on some white posterboard, then used it to draw out an even larger daisy. I cut the ladybug from Doodlecharms at 10 3/4" (as large as it would go), and used my Gypsy to hide one of its spots. I gave it large google eyes and doodled on it to match the banner. The font is Tear Drop and I used my Gypsy to weld all the letters of the words together. I then added a little bit of doodling to the letters.
The final thing I made for the party was some cupcake toppers. I cut the daisy from Picturesque at 2 1/2," the ladybug from Doodlecharms at 1 1/4" and the leaves from Mother's Day Boquet at 1 1/2." I attached all of that to a popsicle stick so they can put them in the cupcakes.

Our third challenge for this month is to create a double layout. I created another double layout for my friends' wedding album. The background cardstock is from the Formal Affair Stack by DCWV. The four photos on the left are all 3 1/2"x3 1/2." The two smaller ones on the right are 4"x4" and the large one is 4 1/2"x6." I matted them all with some coral colored cardstock and then matted the largest one with some aqua glitter cardstock. I used the same glitter cardstock for the title. "The Bride" is from Sweethearts and "gets ready" is from All Mixed Up. I used Sweethearts, Tie the Knot and Formal Occasion for the three dresses. All three are cut at 3." I used pop-dots to adhere the top and bottom ones. I used three Nestabilities for the journalling label and finished it off with some white pearls.
For my project I created a fall card using the scarecrow cut from Simply Charmed. The card is 4 1/2"x6 1/4." I used dark brown cardstock for the card base, then cut some orange cardstock 1/4" smaller and the leaf cardstock 1/4" smaller than the orange. The scarecrow is cut at 4." I used black pearls for his eyes and buttons on his overalls. I used some brown and pink chalk for his cheeks. I also used the "happy fall" sentiment from Simply Charmed. I used my Gypsy to hide the face cut in the "a" in "fall" and added a cutout from the "a" in "happy." I put my scarecrow on a popsicle stick then adhered him to the card base, using pop-dots to adhere his head and arms down. I used some glossy accents on his shoes and adhered the sentiment over the top.
After the background paper was all dry I cut two strips of the yellow/pink striped cardstock, they are 4"x12." I got the paper from DCWV's Rustic Stack. I matted my largest photo with a coral cardstock, then a yellow cardstock (also from the Rustic Stack). My three photos of the hibiscus are matted with the same yellow. I placed them on the page, then cut the remaining elements with my Cricut. The title was cut using the Cricut American Alphabet, which is one of the pre-loaded cartridges on the E2. I cut the "with this" at 1" and the "ring" at 1 1/2." I used font 1 for "with this" and font 3 (and its shadow) for "ring." I cut the hibiscus from Life is a Beach at 4." I decided to not use the leaves from this cut. The rings are from Designer's Calendar, cut at 1 1/2." They are the rings I used on the invitations. I also added a journalling area, but I will journal later, once I have talked to the couple about what they want to say....this is their album after all.
This was a fairly simple project. I just cut the paper to fit around the sides of each box and the top of the lid. I used a different paper for the sides of the lid. The paper is all from the Lemon Flower Stack by DCWV. I just love this stack and was so excited to be able to use it for this project. I then used Mother's Day Boquet to create the flower and leaves on top. The pearls and gems in the center of the flower are from Martha Stewart. Nice and simple, but I think it looks fabulous!!
