Religious Sympathy Card

I made this card for my mom, who requested a religious sympathy card. She needs it for a funeral this coming week. The card is 5"x5 1/4." I used white cardstock for the card base, which is cut from Lacy Labels at 5." I welded two of the shadow labels on my Gypsy to create the shaped card. I then cut the regular label at 5" from a shimmery blue paper. The last white label is the regular label, cut at 4 3/4." The draped cross is from Designer's Calendar, cut at 4." I cut it from brown cardstock and from the shimmery blue paper. I used just the draped part from the blue one, cutting it out and adhering it over the brown one. I stamped my sentiment using rich cocoa ink by Tsukineko. The stamp is by Impression Obsession. I stamped it on white cardstock and matted it with the shimmery blue paper, cut 1/8" larger than the white. I used foam tape to adhere it to the card over the top of the cross. I finished off the card with some small white pearls. I then created a matching envelope. I used white cardstock for the envelope and the shimmery blue paper for the liner. I then cut a 2" cross from Designer's Calendar with brown cardstock. I cut off the draped part so that it is just the cross and adhered that to the envelope flap. Perfect....an my mom loves it!

I used the "Super Sketchy Sunday" sketch at 365 Cards for the layout of this card. It is always nice when I can incorporate a challenge into a requested card. At least I think so!
