Silhouette Sunday - Doctor Who Bookmarks

I totally geeked out a bit when I saw the Doctor Who cut files over at Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbons.  Here are the links for The Doctor and The Enemies cut files.  When I saw these I just had to have them and then I just had to create something with them.

I decided to make some bookmarks!

I can't wait to make even more projects with them, but I just love how all these turned out.

The first one I made was a bookmark featuring the TARDIS.  When you get the cut files for all these images you get two sets, one assembled and one separated.  I used the ones that were all ready assembled.  This one is called "PPPR Police Box."  If I wanted to cut an assemble all the pieces for this one I would use the file called "PPPR Police Box Separated."  The TARDIS is sized at 3.84" tall.  I used the cut file "bookmark set" which can be found in the Silhouette Store under #31601 and is by Samantha Walker.  The white layer of the bookmark is 6.33"x2.375" and the blue layer is 6.58"x2.625."  I found a Doctor Who font online and used it to write out my sentiment, fitting it into the bookmark.  I then printed the TARDIS and the sentiment and cut out the white layer with the printed images and finally, the blue layer.  I then threaded some midnight blue baker's twine, from The Twinery, through the hole at the top.

The Dalek bookmark is the same bookmark shape as I used on the TARDIS.  The white layer of my bookmark is 5.785"x2.17" and the red layer is 6.015"x2.395."  The Dalek is 2.935" tall.  The sentiment is another font I found online called Dalek.  I sized it to fit the bookmark.  Again, I printed the Dalek and sentiment, then cut everything out.  I threaded some grey baker's twine, from Doodlebug Designs Inc., through the hole at the top on this bookmark.

I then decided to make a bookmark with the Weeping Angel.  I did this one a little differently.  The Weeping Angel is 2.335" tall.  I printed it out, then cut just the edges.  I also cut another one, without printing, from dark grey card stock to adhere to the back and make it a little sturdier.  For the bookmark I used one of the shapes from "bookmark basic shapes" cut file by Loni Harris (#18305).  The bookmark is 4.2"x1.5."  I typed the sentiment in a font called Franklin Gothic Demi Cond.  The sentiment is the Doctor's quote, on the episode "Blink," about the Weeping Angels.  I printed it on light grey card stock then cut it out.  I then cut a larger size of the bookmark from dark grey card stock at 4.36"x1.66."  I adhered the bookmark pieces together, then adhered the Weeping Angel at the top.

My last two bookmarks are sonic screwdrivers from Doctors 10 and 11.  10's sonic screwdriver (left) is 5.01" tall and 11's sonic screwdriver (right) is 5" tall.  The bookmarks are the same, and are both 6.275"x1.515" (white layer) and 6.475"x1.73" (black layer).  The cut file I used for the bookmarks on this one is called "5 piece gift tag set" and is by Sophie Gallo (#20960).  It does not come with an outline or shadow, I created that myself by just eyeballing how it looked.  I printed the sonic screwdrivers then cut the bookmark pieces.  I then ran some blue baker's twine, from Doodlebug Designs Inc., through the 10th Doctor's sonic screwdriver bookmark and peapod baker's twine, from The Twinery, through the hole of the 11th Doctor's sonic screwdriver bookmark.

Now I have to make some bookmarks featuring the actual Doctors, since I have the cut files for 9, 10, and 11.  I can't wait to see what else I will come up with using these fantastic images.
