Whooo...

This is a 3 1/2"x9" card. I used an orange cardstock for the card base, then layered it with brown polka dotted paper and yellow patterned paper. The brown paper is cut at 8 7/8"x3 3/8" and the yellow paper is cut at 8 5/8"x3 1/8." The owl is cut from Hoot 'n' Holler at 2 1/2." I used a stamp from My Pink Stamper and jumbo java ink by Tsukineko for the sentiment. I then added a little doodling.I made this card for the following challenges:

Card Creations & More Challenge #9

It is challenge time at Card Creations & More! This week's "So Saturday Challenge" is challenge #9, use some sort of embossing.

I created a 12"x12" layout. These are some more pictures from my trip to Sweden, back when I was in high school. You can see some pictures of the castle I saw in yesterday's post. :) The background cardstock is from K&Company. The two corner pictures are 3 1/2"x5" and the middle picture is 3"x6." I matted each picture with some teal cardstock, cut 1/8" larger than the picture. The journaling part is 3 1/4"x4 3/4." I matted it with some light blue cardstock cut at 3 1/2"x5" and some teal cardstock cut 1/8" larger than the blue. The ship is cut from My World at 3 1/2" and the waves are cut from Life is a Beach at 1 1/2." I then embossed the waves with my Cuttlebug and the D'vine Swirls folder. The title is cut from Robotz, using the font shadow and font feature. I then embossed the white regular layer with the Polka Dots embossing folder.

Flaunt It Fridays Challenge #22

It is time for challenge #22 at Flaunt It Fridays! This week the challenge is to use the castle cut from Wrap It Up. I don't own this cartridge so I used one of the castles from Birthday Cakes.

I recently found some of my old photo albums and decided to start putting them into scrapbooks instead. This layout was created for my trip to Sweden, in between my junior and senior year in high school. The layout is 12"x12" and for the background cardstock I used a sheet from the Once Upon a Time Stack by DCWV. I cut two castles from Birthday Cakes at 4" and flipped one of them. The three largest photos are 3 1/2"x5" and the smaller one is 4"x4." I matted the group shot with the same color cardstock as the castles and also created a journaling space from those cardstocks. It is pretty simple, but I have quite a few photos from this trip so I think they will all be pretty simple, but I do like how it turned out. :) Enjoy!Now it is your turn to flaunt the castle from Wrap It Up. Birthday Fairy

This is a 4 1/2"x6" card. I used a dark brown cardstock for the base, then cut some blue cardstock 1/4" smaller and some kraft cardstock 1/4" smaller than the blue. I embossed the kraft cardstock layer with the Victoria embossing folder. I adhered them all together and wrapped it with two pieces of pink ribbon. The fairy was stamped on white cardstock. I then colored it with some Prismacolor colored pencils and added some glam pink and turquoise Stickles. I used pop-dots to adhere my fairy to the card. I then doodled in a trail for her which I covered with cinnamon Stickles. I added three blue flower buttons and finished it all off by stamping the sentiment in jumbo java ink by Tsukineko.I made this card for these challenges:

Perfect Blend

This card is 4 1/4"x5 1/2." I used a dark brown cardstock for the base. I cut a piece of tan cardstock at 3 1/4"x4 1/8." I then stamped coffee cups on it with clear ink and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. I adhered it to the bottom of the card, then wrapped it with a purple ribbon. I cut a square of tan cardstock at 2 1/2" and one from purple cardstock at 2 3/4" and adhered them to the card to create a diamond. I them stamped them with the sentiment and the coffee beans, using rich cocoa ink by Tsukineko. I also stamped the string of coffee beans with the same ink on some dark brown cardstock. I then cut out the beans and adhered them to the bottom of the card.

I used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches for the layout of my card. I also made this for Day 63 at 365 Cards, where the challenge is to make the sentiment rhyme.

Mother's Day Butterfly

This is actually a pretty small card, at 4 1/2"x4 1/2." I used a white cardstock for the base, then cut the pink patterned paper 1/16" smaller and adhered it on. The white scalloped circle is a Nestie. The butterfly is actually a dimensional sticker that I found it my stash and it was perfect for this card. I think it is from K&Company, but I'm not really sure. I then stamped my sentiment using spanish olive ink by Tsukineko. Super simple, but I really love how it turned out! Girl's Baptism Card

My mom needed another baptism card, this time for a little girl. It is for the cousin of the boy getting baptised and since they are being baptised on the same day I thought I would make it the same way, just with pink instead of blue. You can see the boy's baptism card here. :) The card is 5"x5," made of white cardstock. I then cut some light pink cardstock at 4 3/4"x4 3/4" and some glittery white cardstock 1/8" smaller than the pink. I wrapped it all with some pink ribbon. I cut the cross at 4" from the Wedding cartridge and the letters at 1 1/4" from Winter Woodland. I used white cardstock to cut both the regular and shadow layers. I then used pink cadillac Glimmer Mist to spray the regular layers and give them a slight shimmer and color. I adhered everything to the card and finished it off with two white pearls. The letters are her initials. :) Enjoy!

Queen for a Day

I used silver cardstock to create the base for this 4 1/2"x6 1/4" card. I cut a piece of glittery purple cardstock 1/8" smaller, then trimmed out the corners. I adhered some purple organdy ribbon on the left side and added some small white pearls to the cut-outs in the corners. The crown is cut from Home Decor at 2 1/2," using both the regular and shadow feature. I matted it on some glittery white cardstock, cut at 3"x5 1/2," and some silver cardstock cut 1/8" larger. I used a corner rounder on those two pieces. I adhered that over the ribbon. For the inside of the card I cut a piece of glittery purple cardstock 1/8" smaller than the card base and some white cardstock 1/8" smaller than the purple. I then used Once Upon a Princess and the sentiment, "Queen 4 a Day," using the phrase feature, at 2 1/4" from silver cardstock. I finished off my card with a lot of bling on the crown, because a crown just HAS to have bling! I made this card for these challenges:

Flaunt It Fridays Challenge #21

It is time for another Flaunt It Fridays challenge!! This is challenge #21 and our challenge is to flaunt the Nifty Fifties cartridge, specifically, the car cut.

I decided to make a couple of altered frames for my design team project. I got the frames at Miachaels and I stainted them with a cherry finish. Both the car and the truck are cut from Nifty Fifties. I cut the car at 2" and the truck at 2 1/4." The brown panel on the bed of the truck was embossed with the Woodgrain Sizzix folder, then inked with a reddish brown ink. The "classic" senitment is cut from Cursive 101 on the car frame and Don Juan on the truck frame. I cut it at 1 3/4" out of Cursive 101, using my Gypsy to weld the letters and at 2" from Don Juan. I then adhered everything to my frames once the stain was dry and covered it all with a clear sealant.

This is a 4 1/4"x5 1/2" card, made from a green cardstock. I wrapped it with a brown ribbon, which is threaded through a yellow button. I have had both the ribbon and the button for a while, I've saved them from other things...knowing that someday I would use them. Today is finally that day! The owl is cut from Paisley at 3 1/2." I layered it on some green polka dotted paper, then layered that on some dark brown cardstock. The polka dot paper is cut at 4 1/4"x3 3/4" and the brown cardstock is 1/4" larger than that. I stamped my sentiment, which is from Fiskars, in pearlescent rust ink by Tsukineko, onto yellow cardstock. I then trimmed it to fit and cut the orange cardstock 1/8" larger. I then used pop-dots to adhere the sentiment to the card. I finished it all off with some brown gems for the owl's eyes.

Bravo

This card is 6"x6." I used a punch to round the corners of all the pieces. I used a white cardstock for the card base, then cut some shimmery brown cardstock 1/4" smaller. I then embossed the brown cardstock with my Cuttlebug and the Polka Dots embossing folder. I adhered it to the card base and wrapped it with some gold ribbon. The large medallion is something I picked up at Michaels, it is by Making Memories. I then used a 1" and 1 1/2" circle punch to punch some glittery white and the shimmery brown cardstock. I adhered them at the top of the card and finished it off by adding two gold buttons to the centers of the punched circles.I made this card for the following challenges:

Mother's Day Card

This Mother's Day card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4." I used a dark yellow cardstock for the card base. I then trimmed some pink glitter cardstock 1/8" smaller and some pale yellow cardstock 1/4" smaller than the pink. I embossed the yellow cardstock with the Birds & Swirls embossing folder, then adhered them to the card base. I then cut a strip of glitter pink cardstock at 3 7/8"x2 1/2" and used a Fiskars border punch along the top. I cut a piece of pale yellow cardstock at 3 7/8"x1 7/8" and embossed it with the Swiss Dots folder. I adhered them to the card base as well. I used Holiday Cakes to cut the flowers at 3." I cut two rectangles, one from pink cardstock at 3 1/2"x2 1/2," and one from pale yellow at 2 3/"x3 3/8." I then adhered my flowers to them and used pop-dots to adhere it all to the base. I added faux stitching around the edges of the card base and the rectangles matting my flowers with a pink marker. The sentiment is cut from Lovely Floral. I used my Gypsy to hide the cuts on the pink layer. I then used pop-dots to adhere the sentiment as well. I made this card for the following challenges:

Easter Card

A sweet Easter card for you today. It is 5 1/2"x4 1/4." I used a white cardstock for the base. I then cut a piece of pale green cardstock 1/8" smaller and embossed it with the Swiss Dots folder. I adhered it to the card base and wrapped it twice with a piece of pink organdy ribbon. I used the Easter cartridge to cut the egg shape, at 3 1/2," and the cross, at 3." I inked the edge of the egg with some shimmery purple ink. I cut the bunny from Winter Woodland at 2." I used pop-dots to adhere it to the card. I finished it off with three pink metal eyelets in the upper left hand corner.I made this card to fit these challenges;

Card Creations & More Challenge #8

It is time for another So Saturday Challenge at Card Creations & More by C. This week is challenge #8 and the challenge is to create anything but a card or layout. I have to admit that this was a little trickier because I make mostly cards and some layouts thrown in. However, I did have fun creating this cute little birthday centerpiece.

I used a rectangular glass vase and covered it with some red cardstock that I embossed with the Polka Dots embossing folder. I then put a piece of floral styrofoam inside so that the sticks would say put. I coverd it with some crinkled paper. All the cuts are from Birthday Bash. The bunny is cut at 8." I embossed his ears with the D'vine Swirls folder and the bow on his present with the Polka Dots folder. I added black pearls for his eyes and glossy accents on his nose. The cake was cut at 6." The dog was cut at 4 3/4." I flocked the dark blue parts on him and added black gems for his eyes. The presents were cut at 4 3/4" as well. I cut everything twice so that it looks the same from both sides of the centerpiece. I adhered everything around lollipop sticks and stuck them into the floral foam at varying heights. All the patterned cardstock is from the Dots, Plaids & Stripes Stack by DCWV and all the plain cardstock is from my stash.

Cupcake

This card is 4 1/2" square. I used a cream cardstock for the base, then cut a piece of pink cardstock at 4 1/4" square and adhered it to the card base. I cut some polka-dotted cardstock 1/8" smaller than the pink and adhered it down. I stamped the cupcake image onto a 2 1/2" square of cream cardstock and matted it with some patterned brown paper, cut at 3" square. I rounded the corners on both of those pieces. I then colored the cupcake with Stickles; cotton candy for the wrapper, diamonds for the icing and cinnamon for the sprinkles. I cut a strip of striped cardstock at 1 1/4"x4 1/2" and adhered it to the card. I then stamped my sentiment and finished it off with a couple of large pink pearls.

Baptism Card

My mom recently asked me for a baptism card for my cousin's son. So here is my stab at a baptism card. I used sketch #111 from Card Patterns for the layout of my card. The card is 5"x5." I used white cardstock for the base, then cut some light blue cardstock at 4 3/4"x4 3/4" and some glittery white cardstock at 4 5/8"x4 5/8." I wrapped the card with some blue ribbon. The cross is cut from the Wedding cartridge at 4." I used white cardstock for both the shadow and the regular layer. I then sprayed the regular layer with sea glass Glimmer Mist. I used Winter Woodland for the monograms (those are his initials). I again used white cardstock for both the shadow and regular layers and then sprayed the regular layer with the same Glimmer Mist. I adhered everything down to the card base and finished it off with two large white flat-backed pearls. I think it works as a baptism card. Enjoy! :)

Flaunt It Fridays Challenge #20

Today is challenge #20 at Flaunt It Fridays! This week's challenge is to use the Cindy Loo cartridge and you can choose to flaunt whatever cut you would like from this cartridge. If you don't have Cindy Loo, then choose cuts that are similar to what is on this cartridge.
I chose to make a gift card holder for my project. The actual gift card holder is cut from Cindy Loo at 6." I used a patterned cardstock from the Nana's Kitchen Stack by DCWV. The little deer is also from Cindy Loo and cut at 2." The patterned paper on the deer is also from the Nana's Kitchen Stack, everything else was in my stash. I used some pearls along the scalloped top and found a button in my stash (which I've had forever) to use on the closure for the gift card holder. I wrapped it with some blue ribbon before I adhered my deer to the holder. I stamped my sentiment using prussian blue ink by ColorBox. Both parts of the sentiment are Scrappy Moms Stamps, but the "you're" part of the sentiment is from one stamp and the "fawn-tastic" is from another. I trimmed the white cardstock to fit, then matted it with the green and blue cardstock and adhered it to the holder. Pretty simple, but I think it is pretty cute!

I also made this to fit the 365 Cards "spring cleaning" challenge; which is to use 2 pieces of patterned paper that are at least 1 year old (my patterned paper is over 2 years old), something/anything that you've had since you began scrapbooking (the button is from a stash I have had since I started...I have a LOT of buttons), and ribbon that is at least 2 years old (I know it is over that, I can't remember when I got it).

Warmest Wishes

This is a little 4"x4" wedding card. I used white cardstock for the base, then cut some navy blue polka dotted paper at 3 3/4"x3 3/4." I wrapped the navy paper with some pink orgnady ribbon and adhered it to the card base. I stamped my image in night sky ink by Tsukineko onto white cardstock. I then used the label Nestabilities to cut out the image. I also used the next largest label to cut out some navy blue cardstock. I layerd them together and used pop-dots to adhere the labels to the card base. I coverd the navy blue label in midnight blue Stickles for some shimmer and sparkle. I added three buttons from my stash to the right hand corner. I also tied some twine into a bow and adhered it to the label. The sentiment is stamped in pink petunia ink by Tsukineko onto white cardstock and trimmed down. I then cut some navy blue cardstock 1/8" larger and layred them together and adhered it to the labels. For the inside of the card I cut some navy blue cardstock 1/8" smaller, then some white cardstock 1/4" smaller than the blue. I stamped my sentiment in the same pink ink as the outside sentiment.

Surprise Pop-Up

I have never seen this type of card before, but I really like it! I used the tutorial from Split Coast Stampers, which you can find here. The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4." I used Freshly Picked for the pot of flowers. I added some goldenrod Stickles and some bling to the centers of the flowers. The rest of the flowers are stickers from K&Company. The stamps are from Fiskars. I stamped the "Happy Birthday" sentiment in night sky ink and the "may all your wishes come true" sentiment in spanish olive ink, both from Tsukineko. The blue cardstock is cut into a 3 1/4"x4 3/4" tag. I added the blue eyelet and tied it with some twine from my stash. Not too much to explain about it unless I went into detail about how I made it and I think the tutorial will do a much better job than I could. Enjoy!
