Real Pirates - Page 2

This is the second page of my "Real Pirates" layout that I did a few weeks ago.  You can see the first post here.  Here are the two pages together:

This one is also 12"x12" and I used some patterned cardstock from the Stardust Stack by DCWV for the background.  The photo is 4"x6" and is triple matted.  The white layer is 4 1/8"x6 1/8," the blue layer is 4 3/8"x6 3/8" and the burgundy layer is 4 1/2"x6 1/2."

I used Pirates and Mermaids for the pirate ship.  It is cut at 5."  I used Cricut Craft Room to create the title.  The words "of" and "the" are from Cricut Craft Room Basics and are 1" tall.  The word "Whydah" is from Blackletter and is 2" tall.  I welded the letters together in Cricut Craft Room and adhered them to the page with foam tape.

I added a journaling spot on this page.  I used one of the labels Spellbinders Nestabilities dies to create it from my three main colors: white, blue, and burgundy.  I then added my journaling.

Real Pirates

Last summer my husband and I went to see an exhibit at our local science museum that was called "Real Pirates."  It was about the history of a real pirate ship that was uncovered from the bottom of the ocean.  It was a really cool exhibit and very interesting.  This is the first layout for the scrapbook I am making from that trip.

The layout is 12"x12" and for the background cardstock I used some patterned cardstock from The Stardust Stack by DCWV.  The photos are 4"x5 1/2."  I matted them each with white cardstock cut at 4 1/8"x5 5/8."  I then matted those with a single sheet of blue cardstock cut at 4 3/8"x8 3/8," some burgandy cardstock cut at 4 3/4"x8 3/4," and white cardstock cut at 4 7/8"x8 7/8."

I used Cricut Craft Room to create the title.  I used Blackletter for the word "Pirates" and Cricut Craft Room Basics for the word "real."  "Pirates" is cut at 1 3/4" and "real" is cut at 1 1/4."  I cut the shadow in blue and the regular font in white.  I then added crackle accents to the word "Pirates."  It doesn't show up real well in the pictures though.

The treasure chest, sword, and bottle all came from the Cricut Lite cartridge called Pirates and Mermaids.  The treasure chest is cut at 3 1/2."  The sword is cut at 2 1/2."  The bottle is cut at 2."  I adhered the sword and bottle with foam adhesive.  I added glossy accents to the gold in the chest, the blade of the sword and the brown glass part of the bottle.  I also added some gold and champagne Stickles to parts of the treasure and I put three gold gems on the crown.

The pirate is also from Pirates and Mermaids.  He is cut at 5."  I adhered him to the page with foam tape and added some glossy accents to his hook hand.

I made this layout using the current sketch challenge at Stuck On U Sketches.

Christmas Horse

I can't believe how long it has been since I posted something. And that is actually how long it has been since I have crafted as well. I got so busy with school. Both of my finals were last Friday and I spent so much time studying and preparing for them. I got only one wrong on my Medical Terminology final and 100% on my Biology final! How awesome is that?!! :)
This is some wall decor I made for my dad and his wife for Christmas. They have three horses and the horse on here looks a little like one of them. It is 12"x12." I used some snowflake patterned cardstock for the base of the decor, it came from the Winter Magic Stack by DCWV. I cut the hills and sun from Country Life. I used my Gypsy to make it as large as possible. All the hills are covered with different types of white glitter, which is hard to tell unless you see it in the light. The hills are all pop-dotted. The horse and fence are also cut from Country Life at 5 3/4." I pop-dotted the fence and the horse. I used some white ink on his leg and the stripe on his nose and gave him a black pearl for the eye. The Christmas lights are from Create a Critter, cut at 1." I used some x-mas red, green and gold Stickles on the lights. The wreath around the horse's neck is from Joys of the Season. I cut it twice, once with a dark green and once in a lighter green. I use glossy accents on the berries on the wreath. The "Merry Christmas" is from Blackletter. I used my Gypsy to weld and cut the letters. I also used glossy accents on the title.

I am entering this in the Die Cuttin' Divas "Holiday Decor" challenge.

Feeling Lucky

I thought this turned out to be a pretty fun card. I wasn't sure of it at first, but I kept going and I like the end result. The card is 4 1/2"x6 1/4" and made of black cardstock. I trimmed some shimmery white cardstock at 4 1/4"x6" and then embossed it with the Polka Dots embossing folder. I cut a strip of pink cardstock at 2 1/2"x6 1/4" and used an EK Success border punch on each side. I then added some black gems on every other scallop. I wrapped some ribbon around the strip and then adhered it to the card. I cut the corset from Tie the Knot at 3 1/2." I used some black pearls for the buttons on it and then added some diamon Stickles to the edges for some shimmer. I adhered it to the middle of the card with some pop-dots. I used Blackletter for the "feeling," cut at 1," and used my Gypsy to weld the letters together. "Lucky" is cut from Indie ar at 1." I used some black glitter on both parts of the sentiment. I left the inside blank because I still don't quite know what to put on the inside...I'm hoping I can come up with something good, but until then, it stays blank. :)
I made this card for the following challenges:

Flaunt It Fridays Challenge #7

The challenge this Friday is to use the skull and crossbones on the Mini Monsters cartridge, on page 65 of the handbook, in a non-Halloween project. The first thing I thought of for this cut was to make something pirate related. As I mulled it over more this layout idea came up and I put it all together. It actually turned out pretty much how I envisioned it, which is always nice. This layout is 12"x12." I used Debbie Mumm paper for the background. I cut the map paper in the background from Old West, at 8 1/2." I then inked the edges in gingerbread ink by Tsukineko. I left room for a 4"x6" photo. The blue paper is also Debbie Mumm, cut at 4 1/4"x6 1/4" and the tan paper is cut at 4 1/2"x6 1/2" and I also inked it with the gingerbread ink. The little pirate boy is from B is for Boys and he is cut at 5." The sentiment, "Little Buccaneer," cut at 1 1/2," and "Treasure Map," cut at 1," is from Blackletter. I welded the title on my Gypsy before cutting it out. The palm tree is cut at 2," and the tikis are cut at 3/4," 1" and 1 1/4" and are all from Life is a Beach. The treasure chest is also from Life is a Beach, cut at 2." I cut the gold from Simply Charmed. I used my Gypsy to figure out what size would work for the treasure chest. I cut them out twice and put them in the chest. The skull and crossbones is from Mini Monsters and cut at 1 1/2." I finished off the layout with doodling on the map (for the trail) the tikis, the chest and the title. I added some yellow Stickles to the gold to make it shine.I hope you enjoyed my little layout and I can't wait to see what you come up with for this week's challenge! Come on over to Flaunt It Fridays to play along!
