Daryl Dixon

My husband needs a card for his cousin who just made it through a grueling apprenticeship.  When I found out he likes "The Walking Dead" I began looking through my stamps to see if I had any that would work for a "congratulations" type card.  I came up with this, and I think it turned out fantastic!

The card base is from SVG Cutting Files.  It is called Curved Card Base.  It is about 5 1/2" tall when folded.  It is hard to see in the picture, but the background layer has a subtle arrow pattern on it.  I inked the edges of the card base with black soot Distress Ink and the layer with peacock feathers Distress Ink.

The sentiment is from Jaded Blossom.  It is on the Sassy Pants stamp set.

Daryl is a cut from SVG Cutting Files, but it is one that is no longer available.  He is about 4" tall.  I inked every piece of him to give him that grungy, dirty look.  I even used some sandpaper to distress his pants before I inked them up.  I used the following Distress Inks for various pieces: tea dye, pumice stone, vintage photo, & black soot.  Before adhering his pants I added some twine, that I covered in tea dye Distress Ink, around the pant legs.  Daryl ties the bottom of his pants and I thought this would be an authentic touch.

Overall I am super pleased how this turned out and I hope my husband's cousin likes it.

Unicorns Galore!

Four more unicorn cards for you!

The cards are all 5 1/2"x 4 1/4" and made of dark grey card stock.  The colored mats are all cut using a die from the Card Mat Dies by Jaded Blossom.

The starburst shaped mat is from the "Phrases" Cricut cartridge, cut at 3 3/4."  The unicorn is from SVG Cutting Files, it is called Chibi Unicorn 2.  I added flocking powder to all the layers of hair, the popped up the two lightest layers.  I covered the horn in silver glitter, then covered it in glossy accents.  The hooves are colored with Wink of Stella, then covered in glossy accents.

The sentiment is from Jaded Blossom, the Unicorns & Glitter stamp set.  I then finished off the front of the card with a variety of sequins.

I used the Card Mat Dies to cut the mats for the inside of the card as well.  I then used two more stamps from Jaded Blossom for the sentiment.  The first part is from the Super Hero 2 set, and the second part is from the So Many Birthdays set.

Unicorns & Glitter

Here is a cheerful birthday card for you today:

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and made from dark blue card stock.  The rainbow mat was cut using a metal die from Jaded Blossom's Card Mat Dies set.  I then cut a strip of blue card stock at 2"x4."

The scallop circle and white circle are also from Jaded Blossom.  They are from the Scallop Circle Dies set and Stitched Circle Dies set, respectively.  The unicorn and sentiment are stamped from the Unicorns & Glitter stamp set, also by Jaded Blossom.  I colored the unicorn, then added Wink of Stella to the hair, hooves, and horn for some sparkle.  I adhered the circle with foam tape, then finished off the card with some sequins.

I used the Card Mat Dies again to cut the mats on the inside of the card.  The sentiment is also from Unicorns & Glitter.

Ice Cream Sundae

I have been on spring break this past week, and tomorrow is my last day before I go back to school.  That is why I have been able to do more crafting than usual.  And here is the card I made today:

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and is made from dark brown card stock.  The patterned card stock is cut at 5 1/4"x4."  The background mat is from the "Phrases" cartridge.  I cut it at about 5" in length, then turned it so that it would be vertical on my card.  The white layer is embossed with one of the folders from the Preserves Companion set of embossing folders.

The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms Stamps.  I stamped it in rich cocoa ink by Tsukineko before I embossed the mat.  It is from the Sweet Somethings set.  The ice cream sundae is from KaDoodle Bug Designs.  It is part of the Yummy Treats set.  I cut it at about 4."  I inked the edges of all the ice cream layers with different Distress Inks.  The pink was inked with picked raspberry, the cream colored was inked with antique linen, and the brown layer was inked with walnut stain.  I used a white gel pen to add some detail, then covered the cherry and ice cream within the dish with glossy accents.  I hope it made it seem like the ice cream is in the glass dish.  I adhered the image with foam tape.

I used the same label as I used on the front for my interior matting.  The sentiments are both from Jaded Blossom.  The upper sentiment is from the Lollipops Galore set and the bottom sentiment is from the Sweet Birthday Wishes set.

Cave-Minion

Here is a fun little birthday card for you all today.

The card base is from SVG Cutting Files.  It is called Oval Card Base.

The minion is also from SVG Cutting Files, but it is from a past blog hop and is unavailable for purchase.  I mounted the minion on an action wobble for a little fun.  His little animal skin is covered in brown flocking powder.  His eyes are covered in glossy accents and the bone in his hair is covered in crackle accents.

The sentiment is from Jaded Blossom, the Dinotastic set.

Brush Stroke Birthday Card

Here is today's clean and simple creation:

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4."  I used a piece of wood patterned card stock as the card base.  It is from the Good Wood Stack by DCWV.  The white mat was cut using part of the Goody Bag Die by Jaded Blossom.

The brush strokes are stamped using one of the Paint Splatter stamps by Jaded Blossom.  I used inks from Tsukineko.  The colors are tangelo, dandelion, and bamboo leaves.  The sentiment is also by Jaded Blossom, from the Supersized Birthday Greetings set.

I made this for the following challenges:

Jaded Blossom: use something new (I just got, and have never used Supersized Birthday Greetings)
Color Throwdown: color combo
Crafty Creations Challenges: sentiment as focal point
Less is More: citrus colors
Pile it On: green and two other colors
Seize the Birthday: divide focal point into parts (three sets of brush strokes)
