Green Bay Footballer

Back in October I made a card with a football player on it. I used the colors of my state's football team, the Vikings. A friend of my mom's saw the card and wanted one in the colors of Wisconsin's football team, the Packers. You can see the original post here. I created teh exact same card, just using green where there was purple before. All the directions are in the origninal post if you want to see sizes and what exactly I did.

The Packers card is on the left and the original Vikings card is on the right.

Footballer

I made this card in about 1/2 an hour, since that is all the time I had while my dinner was cooking. I started it just after putting my dinner in the oven and was finishing up the stamping when the timer beeped...perfect! This is a 4 1/2"x6 1/4" card. I used purple for the card base. I used my Gypsy to create the yellow paper with the goal posts. This is the background feature on Sports Mania. I used my Gyspy to size it, since it is supposed to be square. I used a purple Cri-Kit to draw the background paper. I wrapped the yellow paper with some football ribbon that I had in my stash. The grass was cut from Sports Mania using the cut to length feature, so it was cut at 4 1/4." The football player was also cut form Sports Mania at 3." I used two different sizes of pop-dots to adhere the grass, then the football player. I used the colors of my state's football team...the Vikings! I think it will make a great birthday card for a die hard Vike's fan.

I made this card for the following challenges:

Card Creations & More Challenge #14

Challenge #14 at Card Creations & More by C is to create a home decor item. I made a wall plaque for my friend's son. They are big Twins and Vikings fans. I got a wood plaque and painted it a navy blue. I then use Sans Serif and Sports Mania for the font. I welded baseballs to the letters with my Gypsy. I cut them out of a red cardstock, white for the baseballs, and used a marker to added the red stitching. These are the Twins colors. I then created my own Vikings helmet. The helmet came from Sports Mania, I cut it out of the white and purple cardstock. For the horn I manipulated the yin-yang symbol on my Gypsy until it looked like the Vikings horn. I cut it out of yellow and white cardstock, layering them on the helmet so they looked right. I also cut out the soccer ball, baseball, basketball and football from Sports Mania. Once I had everything on the plaque I put some glossy Mod Podge over the top to seal it and give it a shine. My father-in-law cut a keyhole in the back so they could hang it up. It was a BIG hit!

Now it is your turn to come up with a home decor item. Head on over to Card Creations & More to link up your project. I can't wait to see what you come up with! :)
