The Kiss

Another page down in my friends' wedding album. Here's hoping I can get it done by Christmas and give to them as their gift! :) We'll see how that one goes. Anyway, here it is:
It is another two page layout. All of them will be until I get to the last page. :) The background paper is from DCWV, the Tahiti Beach Stack. I loved the flowers in the corners, so I didn't want to cover them up. I cut two strips of patterned paper, which is from the Cafe Mediterranean Stack, at 11"x6." The circles are cut from Cricut American Alphabet at 7" for the white and 7 1/2" for the shimmery teal. I adhered the strips over the circles. I created a photo collage in both strips. The two long photos were matted with some coral cardstock, cut 1/8" larger than the photo. The two larger photos are 3 1/2"x5" and matted with coral cardstock cut 1/8" larger than the photo. I used Letter Envy to cut the letter "S" which is their last name monogram. It is cut at 3 1/2." I used Ashlyn's Alphabet for the "J," "&," and "L" cuts. They are cut at 1 1/2" and I adhered them over the "S" with foam tape, then covered them in tropical tangerine Stickles. I was a little worried about this color, since it looks fairly pink in the bottle, but against the dark coral color it was the perfect touch of sparkle! I finished it off with some flowers I had in my stash.
I made this for the following challenges:
  • Stuck On U Sketches: sketch (I rotated it for the first page and used the sketch as is for the second page)
  • Exploring Cricut: anything goes with two Cricut cuts and a monogram

Drinks Anyone?

Happy New Year!!

This was my big project for the New Year. I started this on New Year's Eve and finished it this morning, New Years Day. It is my first shaped book and I think it turned out really great. It took a lot of time, but it was definitely worth it. I decided to make a drink recipe book for all the fun drink recipes I have collected here and there over the years.

I made this for the challenge at Flaunt it Fridays, which is to use the martini glass from the From My Kitchen Cartridge. I am also going to enter this into the weekly challenge at the Cricut Circle blog. The challenge there is to create something that is not the regular square or rectangle, to include a number somewhere and some bling.

I designed this book in my Gypsy. I used the squished circle that is on George and Basic Shapes for the base of my book. It is cut at 5." I then welded the different drink shapes to each page, they are all at 4." The martini glass and glass with straw are both from From My Kitchen. The pineapple drink is from Life is a Beach. The wine glass is from Celebrate with Flourish. The mug is from Ashlyn's Alphabet. I cut the book sections from chipboard and covered them with cardstock from DCWV, their Citrus Stack. I then cut all the pieces for the drinks out of cardstock and decorated them with bling, Stickles, glossy accents and ink. I used glittery stickers to number each section and some DCWV stickers for the last page. I also cut out the titles. "Martini Madness" is from Cuttin' Up; "Creative Cocktails" is from Makin' the Grade; "Fun 'n' Fruity" is from Life is a Beach; "Classic Cordials" is from Cursive 101; "Winter Warmers" is from Once Upon a Princess. I cut pages from white cardstock and stuck two pages in each section for writing in drink recipes that I have picked up over the years, or for new ones I will pick up in the future. I used my Crop-a-dile to punch holes in everything and put it all together with a couple of metal rings.

Baby Boy Onesie

I made this baby boy card today and managed to fulfill four challenges on it. Today's 365 Cards challenges you to use four elements: buttons, flowers, circles and the color green in threes. For my card the three buttons are the two real ones and the stamped one on the onesie; the flowers are along the diagonal of the first pocket; the circles are two of the buttons and the circle that the onesie is on; and the color green is the button, the stamped button and the frog. Critter Sketch's challenge this week is to create a card or scrapbook layout for a boy and use some glitter on it. My card is for baby boy and there is glitter on the flowers and around the circle. I made this a baby card to work for Made by Momo's challenge, which is: "babies, diapers, & onesies, oh my!!" Finally I made a diagonal double pocket card to fulfill the challenge from Tuesday Morning Sketches. They posted a tutorial that I looked over and then made my card. Check out that tutorial here if you want to learn how to make this card yourself, it is really easy! I used New Arrival to cut out the onesie, giraffe, elephant and frog. I also used it to cut the circles, it is one of the foundations on this cartridge. The buttons and flower stickers are from my stash. I used Fiskars stamps for the button and the sentiments on the tags. I cut the tags from Ashlyn's Alphabet, one is cut at 2 1/2" and the other is cut at 2." I use some ribbon from my stash to finish it all off. All the paper is K&Company, their Small Wonders stack.
