Be Mine, Tiny Valentine

This is a set of tiny Valentine cards. All four cards are 3"x3." I used pre-made cards from DCWVfor the card bases, I just trimmed them down to 3"x3." Two of them are glittery pink and two are glittery red. I cut some white cardstock at 2 3/4"x2 3/4." I stamped my sentiment, which is from Scrappy Moms Stamps on the bottom left corner of the white cardstock. I used red and pink inks. I then used my Cuttlebug and the Swiss Dots folder to emboss the white cardstock. I pulled out Beyond Birthdays, which is a cartridge that I haven't used in almost a year! The heart with the ribbon around it is from that cartridge and I cut it at 2 1/2." I then glittered the hearts, two in red and two in pink. I cut the ribbon layer and flocked them, again two in pink and two in red. I pieced them all together and used pop-dots to adhere them to the cards. There you go, a sweet and simple tiny Valentine! Enjoy!!

I made these cards for the following challenges:
365 Cards: "Day 336" - use a two word sentiment
Die Cuttin' Divas: anything goes
Fantabulous Cricut: 3"x3" Valentine card
Scrappy Moms Stamps: "Rock Princess" (I don't own this cartridge, so I used a heart from Beyond Birthdays that looks like the one tied with a bow on Rock Princess)
Whimsical Designs: use something old (I haven't used Beyond Birthdays in about a year)
My Craft Spot: anything goes

Butterflies

This card is 5"x7." I used a dark pink cardstock for the card base. I then cut some shimmery white cardstock 1/8" smaller and mounted it to the card base. The patterned squares are a cardstock sheet from the Flower Shower Stack by DCWV. I cut out six of them to create a rectangle of 4"x6." Three of the sqares had flowers in the middle, the other three were just patterned. I cut out three butterflies from Serenade, all at 1 3/4." I then adhered them to the middle of the patterned sqares. I cut some glittery green cardstock 1/8" larger than the patterned rectangle and adhered that all down to the card base. The sentiment is cut from Beyond Birthdays at 1." I adhered it to the bottom of the card base and covered it in mystic green Stickles to finish it off. This card was made for the following challenges:

  • 365 Cards: "Up in the Air" - incorporate 3 things you might find up in the air on your card

  • BBTB2: Mother's Day 2010 cartridge, specifically one of the sayings (I don't own this cartrigde so I used Beyond Birthdays)

  • Clean & Simple: sketch #134

  • My Sheri Crafts: "April Showers" - I couldn't help thinking of "May flowers" and springtime with this theme, so that's what I went with :)

O Happy Day

I just got this House Mouse image about a week ago and have been wanting to use it. The Crafty Creations Challenge this weeks is "summer lovin'," and to me nothing says summer like ice cream. Especially enough ice cream to put yourself in a sugar coma. ;) Hehe! I matted the image with brown and pink cardstock. I used Beyond Birthdays for the sentiment, cutting it in the same pink and brown cardstock. I wanted to keep it really simple because I like the image so much.

Get Well Soon

The challenge this week at Cricut Cardz is to make a get well card and use only the colors: black, white, green and blue. I used an SEI paper stack called Black Orchid. I have had this pack for a while now, but have rarely used it. I'm not sure why because it is some great paper. It was perfect for this challenge because there were a few papers in it that were black, white, green and blue. It must have been fate! ;) I used the sketch from 365 Cards to make this card. I got the sentiment from Beyond Birthdays.

Music to My Ears

I think this card is a perfect summer card...so full of color and warmth. I was just in the summer mood because it is actually sunny today. It seems like we have had a lot of rain this summer. That's probably because this is the summer my husband and I have been doing all our vacationing. Oh well, as long as we get some sunny days here and there. This one is for a few challenges today. The layout of the card comes from Card Patterns, sketch #74. I played around with this sketch for a while before I came up with something I liked for it, and I really like how this one turned out. I used summer colors to work with For Fun Challenges this week. I also went with Cuttlebug Challenges and used their "CHA CHA CHA Challenge," which was to use something inspired by music, dance or energy. All the paper came from the DCWV Flower Power stack. I used the Hannah Montana cartridge for the butterfly/guitar cut and the music notes. The "congrats" is from Beyond Birthdays. I also used my Cuttlebug to emboss the flowers on the bottom. I wasn't sure how it would look when I started that part, but I like the texture it lends to look at the bottom of the card. I did some doodling on the letters and guitar to finish it off. The inside sentiment says, "your accomplishment was music to my ears." It is pretty generic, but I didn't have anyone specific in mind when I made it. Enjoy!
