Fright Night

Here is the fun Halloween card I made today.

It is 4"x8" and made out of black card stock.  I cut purple card stock at 3 7/8"x7 7/8," then grey card stock at 3 3/4"x7 3/4" as mats.  I stamped stars all over the background of the grey mat using a stamp from Jaded Blossom.  It is from the Halloween Panels set, I only inked up some of the stars on the panel with the ghosts.  Then I stamped them repeatedly.  I then used a glitter marker to color in the stars.

The trick or treaters are from the "Autumn Celebrations" Cricut cartridge.  I used foam tape to adhere the witch in the middle and the little guy at the beginning of the line, just for a little dimension.

The haunted house is from the "A Frightful Affair" cartridge.  I stamped the ivory base with a texture stamp from Jaded Blossom, one of the ones on the Halloween Paint Splatters set.  I then cut the moon part again, out of yellow vellum, to cover the ivory color and the stamping.

The banner is from "The First Few Years" cartridge and the stamp is another one from Jaded Blossom.  This time it is from the Halloween Treats 2 set.

I cut some purple card stock at 3"x7" and then some white card stock at 2 7/8"x6 7/8" for the inside of the card.  I used the Halloween Designer Tapes stamp set from Jaded Blossom to create my faux washi tape look.  I fussy cut them out and adhered them to the corners of my mats.  The sentiment is from the Halloween Treats 2 stamp set as well.

I made this for the current challenge at Jaded Blossom, which is Halloween.

Leprechaun Hat

I had a rare Monday off today, although that was simply because I was working last night until midnight.  So, I decided to be a little craft today, when I eventually got up, and I thought I would make a St. Patrick's Day project.

The hat was created using the digital cartridge "Independence Day 3D Projects."  It was cut at 5," which means that it is 5" tall when all assembled.  I cut all the layers of the hat in green and all the layers of the band in black.  I then used "Autumn Celebrations" for the hat buckle.  It is on page 49 of the handbook, the layer 1 (shift) feature.  It was cut at 2 1/4" and covered with yellow glitter, then glossy accents.

The clover is from the Silhouette Store.  It is called "3D Bunch of Clover" and is by Jamie Cripps (#55883).  I cut it at about 3 1/2" from four different pieces of patterned paper.  I adhered them to the right side of the hat at the hatband and then tied some black baker's twine in a bow and adhered it over the stems of the clover.

The banner was also created with the Silhouette.  The banner itself is called "3D Banner Curved Top," and is also by Jamie Cripps (#53913).  I used a font from my computer to create the "Happy St. Patrick's Day" sentiment.  I printed it out, then cut it out with the Silhouette Cameo.  I adhered the banner to the top of the hat with some floral wire so that it would stand upright.

The leprechaun is from the digital cartridge "St. Patrick's Day."  I cut him at 4."  I covered the hatband and his waistcoat with yellow glitter and adhered him to the banner.

The pot of gold is from "Simply Charmed."  It is on page 33 and was cut at 3 1/4."  I covered the lighter parts of the gold with yellow glitter, then glossy accents.

I made this for the following challenges:

BBTB2: St. Patrick's Day
My Sheri Crafts: glitter, crystals, or bling of some kind
Cardz TV: 3D St. Patrick's project

Perfect Sentiments: "Clean and Simple Fall"

It's Wednesday and that means time for another challenge at The Perfect Sentiment!!
This week our challenge is "Clean and Simple Fall"
The challenge: create a card with a sentiment for fall or Thanksgiving
The twist: make it clean and simple
Here is the card I made for the challenge:
I made the card 4 1/2"x6 1/4" from a brown cardstock.  I trimmed some golden colored cardstock at 4 3/8"x6 1/8."  I cut some more brown cardstock at 4 1/8"x5 7/8."  I then cut some shimmery ivory cardstock at 4"x5 3/4" and then embossed it with the Tim Holtz embossing folder called Thankful Print, by Sizzix.  I cut a strip of brown cardstock at 4 1/8"x2 1/2"  I cut some gold cardstock at 4"x2 3/8."  I used Autumn Celebrations to cut the sentiment at 2 1/4."  I added burgundy and cinnamon Stickles to the red swirl and the word "grateful."  I also added some glossy accents to the word "be."  I used a Marvy Uchida punch for the maple leaf, which I covered with crackle accents and adhered to the card with pop-dots.  Nice and easy!
Now it is your turn to create a clean and simple fall card.  Be sure to link it up at The Perfect Sentiment.  I can't wait to see what you create!
