Birthday Wishes

How about a clean and simple card today?

The card base is 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and made of white card stock.

The black background is 4 1/8"x2 7/8."  I used one of the Border Dies from Jaded Blossom to cut the scallop at the bottom.  I cut a white rectangle at 2"x4" and then used six different Distress Inks to create the ombre effect in the background.  I used: squeezed lemonade, mustard seed, dried marigold, carved pumpkin, candied apple, & fired brick.

The dog silhouette is a stamp from Paper Smooches.  It is from the Paws for a Cause stamp set.  I heat embossed it on the white rectangle before I created the ombre background.

The sentiment is also from Jaded Blossom.  It is from the Dog-Gone Awesome stamp set.

I made this for the following challenges:
Less Is More: three adjacent color wheel colors
Pile It On: fire or red/orange color scheme

Alpaca My Scarf

I love the Winter Alpaca stamp set from Lawn Fawn and just had to use it in the current Lawnscaping Challenge, which is clean and simple.

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and made of light grey card stock.  I used the Card Mat Dies from Jaded Blossom to cut a piece of white card stock for a mat.  I used stamps from the Fresh Snow stamp set by Paper Smooches for most of the snowflakes on my mat.  The smallest snowflake is from the Winter Alpaca stamp set.  I stamped them all with embossing ink, then heat embossed them with white embossing powder.  After the snowflakes were heat embossed I then used pumice stone and tumbled glass Distress Ink to cover the mat and make a snowy, wintry sky.

The snowy hillside was cut using one of the Stitched Hillside Borders from Lawn Fawn.  I used star dust Stickles on the edge of the hill for shimmer.

I colored the alpaca with Prismacolor colored pencils and I adhered it with foam tape for dimension.  I also added a touch of Wink of Stella to the alpaca's cheek for shimmer.

The sentiment is from the same Winter Alpaca stamp set.  I curved it to follow the hillside.  It is stamped in pumice stone Distress Ink.

Monster Bash

I created a cute little monster-themed birthday card!

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and made of white card stock.  I used the Card Mat Dies to cut the orange polka dot card stock, then I used the Border Dies 2 to cut the mat to make it look like a balloon.  Both dies are from Jaded Blossom.  I then used a light blue baker's twine for the string of the balloon.

The adorable little monster is from Lettering Delights.  He is part of the Mini Monster cut set.  I used the Dot Fade stencil by Tim Holtz to give my little monster some texture to his body.  I used old paper Distress Ink for the coloring.  I used a Peachy Keen face stamp for his face instead of the cut pieces.  It is part of the Quick and Simple Emojis Face Assortment.  I added him to the card, then curled his fingers around the twine to make him look like he is holding the balloon.

The sentiment is from Paper Smooches.  It is part of the Happy Birthday stamp set.

I made this for the following challenges:

Winter Scene

I have a quick and simple card for you today before I have to get to my studying.  This one took me about 20 minutes to complete.

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and I used light blue premade card base.  I used the Panel Dies from Jaded Blossom to cut the white strips and also the brown "window."  For the "window" I used the negative space, trimming around it to give it a frame.  I then used the actual panel cuts from the white card stock to put into the negative space of the brown.  The tress on the panels are from the Winter Panels stamp set, also by Jaded Blossom.  I stamped them in rich cocoa ink by Tsukineko.  The bright red bird is a stamp from Paper Smooches.  It is from the Autumn Groves set.  I stamped it in barn door Distress Ink and fussy cut around it, then adhered it to look like it is sitting on a branch.  The sentiment is also from the Winter Panels stamp set by Jaded Blossom.  I stamped it on a banner cut with a metal die from My Craft Spot.  I used tumbled glass Distress Ink and finished it off with some red gems.

I made this for the current challenge at CASology, the cue word is "tree."

Chemistry

I eked out a little time today and made a quick and simple card.

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and made of black card stock.  I then made a mat, cut at 5 1/4"x4," out of white card stock.  I used Jaded Blossom dies for the strip in the background.  It is actually made of two different dies, the longer strip from the Panel Dies set and the bottom part is from the Mini Tag Dies 2 set.

The image is from Paper Smooches, the Great Chemistry set.  I stamped the flasks, one of them twice, then added the smoke and stoppers.  I colored them with Distress markers by Tim Holtz.  The sentiment is from Jaded Blossom as well, the Science Matters set.

Sail On

I have a very quick and simple card for you today.

The card base is white card stock, sized at 5 1/2"x4 1/4."  I cut a white mat at 5 3/8"x4 1/4."  I then used my  scoring board to add four scored lines to the left side.

The boat, water, heart, and sentiment are all stamps from Paper Smooches.  The boat is stamped on white card stock, then fussy cut out and colored in.  The waves are stamped using the faded jeans Distress Marker by Tim Holtz.  I then cut them out at the top and bottom.  I added a little slit, following the waves, in the middle and added my boat.  The heart is stamped in barn door Distress Ink.  I finished it off with the sentiment.  The boat, heart, and waves are all from the Wicked Nauticool set and the sentiment is from the Word Up set.

Deep Sea

I have been so busy with my summer class that I have not really had much time to craft.  Well, today my class was shortened due to a medical problem with my instructor's family.  All we did today was our crayfish dissection and then we got to leave, so I decided to use some of that spare time to craft.

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and made of grey card stock.  I cut some light blue card stock at 5 1/4"x4."  I used a Darice embossing folder on the blue card stock, it is called Beach Waves.  I cut a strip of kraft card stock and covered it with copper glitter for the sand.

The sign is from the Cricut cartridge "H2O."  I used the hide contour feature to hide the words on the sign.  I stamped the sentiment on the sign, it is three different stamps from Paper Smooches.  The "have a" is from the Blossoming Buds set, the "swell" is from the Surf and Turf set, and the "birthday" is from the Sentiment Sampler set.

All the little sea creatures are from the Surf and Turf set by Paper Smooches.  I stamped them on white card stock, colored them in, cut them out, and adhered them to the card.

I made this for the following challenges:
BBTB2: use a sign or banner
Die Cuttin' Divas: something you would find in sea or aquarium

Pen & Ink

Today's card is super clean & simple, definitely a quick one to make.

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and made of white card stock.

The pen, ink spot, and sentiment "hi" are all stamps from Paper Smooches, the Just a Note set.  I stamped the "hi" first, then extended the line on the left with a black pen.  I then used part of the ink spot stamp to finish off the line.

The pen was stamped on a piece of light grey card stock.  I then cut it out and adhered it to the card.  The nib was adhered right the card base, but I used a double layer of foam tape on the top end of the pen for some dimension.

Jump for Joy

The card base is 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and made of black card stock.  The yellow mat is 5 3/8"x4 1/8."

I created the background by stamping a grad cap and star repeatedly all over a piece of 5 1/4"x4" white card stock.  The stamps are from Paper Smooches, the Smarty Pants set.

The girl is from a cut file from SVG Cutting Files.  It is called The Grad.  I used the girl doing the podium jump.  I just didn't use the podium and I also got rid of the cap.  She was cut at 3 3/4" (flipped).  I hid her eyes so that I could use a Peachy Keen face stamp.  I actually combined two stamps for her face.  The eyes and nose are from the Simple Sallies Face Assortment.  The mouth is from the Laffy Taffy Face Assortment.  I added some glossy accents to her glasses.  I used a white gel pen for her teeth and a red glossy pen for her lips.  I then adhered her to the card with foam tape.

The sentiment on the front was cut with a Cricut font from the "Fontastic Fonts" cartridge.  This particular font is called DJ Terrific.  I used my Cricut Explore to lay out the card and cut the font to fit in the space.  I then covered the letters with lagoon Stickles.

For the interior of the card I used some more Paper Smooches stamps.  I used the grad cap again and a sentiment, also from the Smarty Pants set.  The yellow mat is 5 1/4"x4" and the white mat is 5"x3 3/4."
