Woodland Birthday

Here is today's woodland themed card:

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4."  I used brown card stock for the card base, then but a piece of wood grain patterned card stock to be the mat.  I used the Cricut Explore and an image from "Wild Card" to create the circular window.  It was cut at 5 1/4"x4."  The wood grain patterned card stock is from the Good Wood Stack by DCWV.

I stamped my birch tree images on some white card stock and mounted it behind the window.  I colored in the lenticels with the vintage photo Distress Marker.  FYI: the lenticels are those rips or tears you see in the bark of some trees, like birch.  The birch trees and owl are from the Autumn Groves stamp set by Paper Smooches.  The birch trees are stamped in rich cocoa ink and the owl is stamped in midnight black ink, both by Tsukineko.

The label is from the "First Few Years" cartridge.  It was cut to fit the sentiment, so it is 0.841"x2.783."  I then stamped the sentiment in midnight black ink by Tsukineko.  The sentiment is another Paper Smooches stamp, this one is from the Salutations set.  I then finished off the card with three brown sequins.

I made this for the following challenges:

Paper Smooches: photo inspiration

CASology: cue word - "NBUS" (never been used stuff) (the wood grain card stock, tree and owl stamps)

Chocolate Covered Sweetness

Today's card is simply sweet:

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and made from brown card stock.  The striped mat is cut at 5 3/8"x4 1/8."  The scalloped oval is from "Elegant Edges," and is cut at 4 3/4" (both the regular and shadow layers).  I embossed the white scallop with an embossing folder by The Paper Studio called Quatrefoil.

The strawberry is from the "Sweet Shop" cartridge  It is cut at 2.57."  I embossed the red layer with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder.  I also covered the brown card stock with glossy accents.  I used foam tape to mount the strawberry for some added dimension.

The banner is from "Victorian Romance."  It is cut at 2.12."  I inked the edges of the pink layer with picked raspberry Distress Ink.  The sentiment is from Fiskars and stamped in rich cocoa ink by Tsukineko.  I then added some pink enamel dots to the top right and bottom left corners.

I cut some pink card stock at 5 1/4"x4," and some white card stock at 5"x3 3/4" for the inside of my card.  I then cut a scalloped circle at 2," using "Elegant Edges."  The sentiment from My Craft Spot, the Tasty Treats set.  I stamped it in picked raspberry Distress Ink.

I made this for the following challenges:
BBTB2: favorite Cricut cut (I can't pick one favorite, but I love this chocolate covered strawberry and Elegant Edges is one of my favorite cartridges)
Scrappy Moms Stamps: use a sweet image

Sea Life Wall Art

I mentioned in my post yesterday, that I had been in Washington visiting my friends and their 9 month old baby.  I made a name sign for their son a while back, you can see that here, and gave it to them while we were visiting.  My husband hung the signs up and I decorated the wall next to it with some vinyl cut in sea life inspired shapes.

The name sign was made with "Extreme Fonts" and "Art Nouveau."  For more information, see the original post, here.

Here is a better look at the sea life wall.

The sea weed is from "Life is a Beach."
The fish is from "Four Legged Friends."  I just eliminated a couple of layers and flipped it.
The bubbles are from "A Child's Year."  I flipped them to work with the fish.

The sea weed is from "Word Builders 3: An Ocean of Words."
The fish and bubbles are from "This & That."  This is a Creative Memories cartridge.

The octopus is from "ZooBalloo."
The bubbles on the right are from "A Child's Year."  Like bubbles with the fish, they are flipped.
The bubbles on the left are from "Kate's ABCs."  They are just two of the bubbles in the bubble bath word title.

Valentine

I know I have not been posting lately, but that is because I have been on vacation.  I was in Washington state for about a week visiting with my friends and their 9 month old.  It was a great time, but now I am home and settled back in.  I have spent the past couple of days sewing, working on my quilt, so I thought I would make a card today.

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and made from white card stock.  I cut a piece of white card stock at 3 7/8"x3 1/4" and then rounded the corners.  I used the December 2013 Stamp of the Month kit from Peachy Keen Stamps to create the calendar.  I added two heart shaped brads to the top corners, then adhered it to some black card stock, cut at 4"x3 3/8."

The word "love" was cut from the "Mother's Day Coupon Book," the digital Cricut cartridge.  It was cut at 3 1/2" wide.  I then covered it with x-mas red Stickles.

The sentiment on the inside is from the Build a Valentine stamp set by My Craft Spot.

I made this for the following challenges:

Color Throwdown: color challenge

CASology: cue word - date

Love to Create: anything goes

Tuesday Throwdown: favorite embellishment (brads/bling)
