Card Creations & More Challenge #15

This was created for challenge #15. The challenge was to be inspired by a blogging friend. Well, Chery at Pink and Paper made this really cool Fluffy Flower Card that I just loved (make sure you check it out). I decided to do something similar. I actually used the same flower, which is from Forever Young. The card base is 5"x5" and made from black cardstock. I cut some glittery white cardstock at 4 3/4"x4 3/4" and some black and white damask cardstock 1/8" smaller to finish off the card base. I cut the flower at 4 1/2" for the outer layer, which I cut twice. The first large one is adhered to the card base, then the other one of the same size is curled and adhered to the first one. The next layer is cut at 3 3/4," then 3" and finally the smallest layer is cut at 2 1/4." I curled the rest of the layers, then used pop-dots to adhere them to give them even more dimension. I added a black and white button to the middle of the flower to finish it off. I stamped the sentiment in black ink on ivory cardstock and adhered right below the flower.

Now check out your blogging friends and be inspired. Head on over to Card Creations & More by C to link up your project. I can't wait to see how you are inspired!

Sunglasses

This card is 4 1/2"x6 1/4." I used a lime green cardstock for the card base. I cut a piece of black glitter cardstock at 6"x2 3/4." I used a corner rounder on two of the corners of both the card base and the black cardstock. I used Forever Young for both the sunglasses and the sentiment. I used the shadow feature for the sentiment as well. The sentiment is cut at 1" and the sunglasses at 2." I used pop-dots to adhere the sunglasses. I finished it off with some brushed pewter Stickles on the sentiment and glossy accents on the sunglasses.

Pink Hat

The card base was the only cardstock or paper that wasn't a scrap on this card, everything else was cut using scraps I had in my stash. I used white cardstock to create the card base, which is 4 1/2"x6 1/4." I then cut some black cardstock 1/4" smaller and embossed it with the Polka Dots embossing folder. I cut a 6" half circle from a pink patterned paper and adhered it to the card base. The hat is cut at 2" from Forever Young. I also cut some white glitter cardstock using the shadow feature. I then attached a K&Company flower to the hat, covering the flower that was on the die cut. I cut it a mat from black cardstock at 4 5/8"x2 1/4." I then doddled around the edges with a white gel pen. I cut another mat from the white glitter cardstock at 4 7/8"x2 1/2." I then stamped my sentiment and heat embossed it with some glittery pink embossing powder. I adhered that all down to the card base and added some flowers. The white flowers are Prima and I sprayed them with some sparkle Shimmer Mist. The pink bling flower was from my stash as was the bling I used in the center of the larger flower.

Chic

One more for today. This is a 5"x5" card. I used black cardstock for the card base. I then cut some patterned pink paper 1/8" smaller than the card base. The large black square is 3 1/2" and the smaller one is 2." I then cut some shimmery white cardstock 1/8" smaller than each square. I embossed the larger piece with the Swiss Dots folder. I used pop-dots to mount the smaller square to the card base. The sentiment and the image are both from Forever Young. The model is cut at 3 1/4" and the sentiment at 3/4." I used glossy accents on the sentiment. I then framed the model and the sentiment with some gems.
I used sketch #204 from CPS for the layout of my card. I also used the color challenge at Color Throwdown: basic black, real red, orchid opulence, passion pink. Finally, I used Wednesday's challenge at 365 Cards for my theme. Their challenge was "Teen Queen" - make a card with a teenage girl in mind and frame it with some bling.

Big Orange Flower

I like this card, but I'm not entirely pleased with it. I feel like it is missing something, maybe some embossing on the background or the largest part of the flower...just, something. But, it is all put together and I'm not going to redo it because I do like the look of it.

I made this 5 1/2"x4 1/4" card with dark brown cardstock. I then cut a piece of shimmery orange cardstock at 4"x2 1/2" and adhered it on the brown card. I wrapped metallic orange thread from Gutermann around the card a number of times. The flower is from Forever Young and cut at 4." I cut the base layer in a light orange cardstock, the middle layer is cut with the same shimmery orange as the layer on the base and the final layer is cut from the same brown cardstock as the card base. I inked the edges of the flower layers with galaxy gold ink, by Tsukineko, and also did the card base with the same ink. I folded up the petals of the inner layers for some dimension. I used some gold flat-backed pearls for the flower center and then used some golden rod Stickles around the edges of the largest flower. I stamped the sentiment in the same galaxy gold ink. The sentiment is hard to read in the photo, but says, "Thinking of You." It shows up better in person.

This card was made for the following challenges:
Cupcake Inspirations: orange and brown cupcake with a flower on it
Card Patterns: sketch #96

Purse Note Card Set

I absolutely love how this thank you note card set turned out! This one is for today's 365 Cards, which is "don't forget your purse;" Alphabet Challenge, which is "Q is for quotes;" Color Throwdown, the colors are: soft sky, chocolate chip, kraft, and certainly celery; and Paper Cutz, which is "anything goes." The purse is from Forever Young and cut at 5 1/4." I stamped both the front and back of the paper with a flower stamp before assembling it; the inside is stamped with green ink and the outside with brown ink. I cut two rectangles of brown and blue paper and then rounded the corners. I had a vellum quote in my stash that I really liked, so I trimed it to fit. I embossed the blue paper with Stylized Flowers. The cards are all 3"x3" and cut out of the green paper and kraft paper. I layered the brown and blue papers again, running the top one through the Cuttlebug with the Stylized Flowers embossing folder. I stamped "thank you" on the bottom of the cards with green or brown ink. The envelopes are cut to fit the cards, I rounded the corners for a nicer look. The inner liner is also stamped with the same flower as the purse. I then cut a flower from Forever Young at 1 1/2" to put on the back of the envelopes. It was actually quite simple, just took a little time. I want to thank the Paper Boutique for the inspiration!
