Valentine's Giraffe

Here is a simple little Valentine, that I think would be perfect for a child. The card is 5"x7" and I used white cardstock for the base. The red layer is cut at 4 3/4"x6 3/4" and the pink layer is cut at 4 1/2"x6 1/2." I then cut the white cardstock at 4 1/4"x6 1/4" and ran it through my Cuttlebug with the Polka Dots embossing folder. The giraffe is cut from the Paisley cartridge at 3 1/2." It cuts out sideways so it is about 6 1/4" tall. I cut it out in pink and red. The little hearts on the tail, back and horns are all from Paisley as well. The large hearts were cut from George and Basic Shapes. The red one is cut at 1 1/2," the pink one is cut at 1 1/4" and the white one is cut at 1 3/4." I stamped the sentiment on the white heart. It is a Scrappy Moms Stamp. I then used pop-dots to adhere the giraffe and the white heart. I finished off the card with some ruby slipper Stickles around the white heart and glossy accents on the hearts of the giraffe.

Danke

This is a 4 1/4"x5 1/2" card, made from a green cardstock. I wrapped it with a brown ribbon, which is threaded through a yellow button. I have had both the ribbon and the button for a while, I've saved them from other things...knowing that someday I would use them. Today is finally that day! The owl is cut from Paisley at 3 1/2." I layered it on some green polka dotted paper, then layered that on some dark brown cardstock. The polka dot paper is cut at 4 1/4"x3 3/4" and the brown cardstock is 1/4" larger than that. I stamped my sentiment, which is from Fiskars, in pearlescent rust ink by Tsukineko, onto yellow cardstock. I then trimmed it to fit and cut the orange cardstock 1/8" larger. I then used pop-dots to adhere the sentiment to the card. I finished it all off with some brown gems for the owl's eyes.

Cute Little Dachshund

Here is a 5 1/2"x4 1/4" card. I used a shimmery green cardstock for the card base. I then cut some white cardstock at 5 1/4"x4" and embossed it with the D'vine Swirls folder. I cut the tree from Straight From the Nest at 5." I embossed the pink layer with a Sizzix folder called Woodgrain. The dachshund is from Paisley, cut at 2 1/4." I used pop-dots to adhere the dachshund to the card base. I added glossy accents to the nose and eyes of the dog, some glam pink Stickles to the flower on the dog and finished it off with some green gems on the tree.

I made this card for the following:
365 Cards: "Super Sketchy Sunday" - sketch
Alphabet Challenge: T for Tree
BBTB2: Paisley cartridge, dachshund cut
Cricut Cardz: spring card with pink, green, white

Flowers & Bee

This is a 3 3/4"x9" card, made from a dark brown cardstock. I left the background plain so the other elements would pop more. All the cuts came from the Paisley cartridge. The bee was cut at 2 1/2" and I used the shadow feature on it as well. I cut the wings twice, once with shimmery white cardstock and once with vellum. Once it was assembled, I then folded up the vellum layer of wings, for some dimension and to make it seem like he was flying. The flowers on this card were made using the button feature on this cartridge. I cut them both at 2" and then embossed the flowers with the D'vine Swirls folder and the flower centers with the Swiss Dots folder. Once all the cuts were adhered to the card base I finished it off with some buttons, two butterfly ones and a flower one.

Sweet as Sugar

I seem to be on a layout making kick. I don't even know what I am going to use half of them for, but I am really getting into making these layouts. I used the sketch from The Paper Variety for this layout. The challenge at Made By Momo is to create something with a princess theme. This paired really well with the challenge at The Cuttlebug Spot, which was to be inspired by a children's game. Between the sketch and the princess theme all I could think of was Candy Land and Princess Lolly, so this layout is inspired by Princess Lolly. :)

The layout is 12"x12." I used some pink cardstock for the background. I then adhered a large piece of paper shaped like a candy mint onto the pink cardstock. I can't remember the brand of the paper, but I got it at JoAnn's a year or so ago when it was on clearance. I cut two mats for each photo. The smaller mat is for a 3"x5" photo and the larger is for a 4"x6" photo. I stamped around the edge of the page with a sentiment stamp from My Pink Stamper. I used pink grapefruit ink by Tsukineko. My version of Princess Lolly is cut from Once Upon a Princess at 4 1/2." The crown she is wearing is also from Once Upon a Princess and cut at 1." I added some Stickles and jewels to the crown and her dress. The lollipops are cut from Paisley and Mickey and Friends. The three largest lollipops (glittery yellow and magenta) are from Mickey and Friends. They are cut at 2 1/2." I then embossed the lollipop with the D'vine Swirls embossing folder. The rest of the lollipopos are from Paisley. I cut three at 2" and three at 2 1/2." I embossed them with Swiss Dots. I added Stickles to the three smallest lollipops. The title is a sticker that I found in my stash and thought fit the page perfectly. I adhered it to some shimmery white cardstock and then matted it with some pink and used pop-dots to adhere it to the page.

Belated Birthday Card

My sister-in-law's birthday was a few days ago, but my husband forgot to tell me so that I could make a card in time. I still made a card, but we wound up sending it late. I decided to use a snail on the front because we were so slow in getting it to her.
I bought a stack of patterned paper at Michael's and also found some bling that was on clearance. So now I finally have a little more to work with. I will be even happier when I can finally unpack all my stuff and have a real craftroom to work in. That should be happening at the end of the month, that is when we are closing on our house at least. I guess it will take a few days to get my stuff unpacked. Enjoy!!

Love

This is an octagonal card I made using my Gypsy and George and Basic Shapes. I welded two 5" octagons together for the base of the card. I then cut a 4" white octagon and embossed it with the Perfectly Paisley embossing folder. I tied a ribbon around it with the jeweled heart charm. I used my scalloped circle Nestabilities dies to cut two scalloped circles out of pink and white. I used the Perfectly Paisley embossing folder again on the white circle. I layered those on the octagon base. I used Create a Critter to cut out the "love" sentiment and Paisley for the paisley. I finished it all off with some Stickles around the edge of the white octagon and as a heart in the paisley.
I made this for the following challenges:
Cuttlebug Challenge: use pink as the main color and add a sentiment
ABC Challenge: C is for Charms
365 Cards: Shape Up-use a polygon with a minimum of 5 sides as dominant shape
Crafty Creations Challenge: Use white and one other color
Cricut Cardz: Use scalloped circles, ovals, squares and rectangles
