Dancing Pair

I got another card made today! This one is for "Day 311" at 365 Cards. It is for their damask & pink "Pretty Pairs" challenge. I used black cardstock for the card base, it is 4 1/2"x6 1/4." I then cut some ivory & black damask cardstock 1/8" smaller. I cut some striped pink cardstock at 2"x4 3/8" and adhered it to the bottom of the damask piece. I that with some black ribbon, aligning the top of the ribbon with the top of the pink cardstock. I used Shall We Dance? for the medallion of the dancing pair. I used my Gypsy to hide the cuts so I could cut a solid cream piece, then cut the regular one in black. I then sprayed the black medallion in sparkle Shimmer Mist. I used pop-dots to adhere the medallion to the card. I then added some dark pink pearls to the edges. I used a Scrappy Moms stamp for the sentiment. It is stamped in black ink on cream cardstock and matted 1/8" larger with black cardstock.

Flaunt It Fridays Challenge #14

It's time for another Flaunt It Fridays challenge!! This week the challenge is to use any cut on the Twinkle Toes Lite Cartridge. If you don't have Twinkle Toes then use something with similar cuts. I don't have Twinkle Toes, so I used Shall We Dance instead.

I decided to create a layout. This is a 12"x12" layout. I used a pink and brown striped cardstock for the background of the layout. I then cut my curtains by hand and tied them with some twine. I cut some strips of cardstock for the top part of the curtain and then punched them with a Martha Stewart border punch. My little ballerinas are both cut at 3 3/4" and I used the shadow feature for both of them as well. I used some glossy accents on their eyes and cotton candy Stickles on their tutus. The "I Love Dance" sentiment is cut at 1" and the "Mini Ballerina" sentiment is cut at 1 3/4" and I used some glossy accents on it as well. There are room for two photos, one 3"x3" and one 4"x6." The mats are 1/4" larger than the previous layer.

Now it is your turn to give this challenge a try! Head on over to Flaunt It Fridays and flaunt your Twinkle Toes creations. Remember, if you don't have this cartridge feel free to use something similar. I can't wait to see what you all come up with!! :)

Daddy's Girl

This is a two page layout I did for a few challenges. Cooking With Cricut's challenge is to have at least three flowers on your project. They have a twist though, you can use either of the sketches they have, one for a two page layout and one for a card. The sketches are optional, but I decided to give the layout one a try. I've never used a sketch to create a layout before, so this was fun. I also made this using the color combo provided by Color Throwdown: pear pizzazz, kraft & blushing bride. The challenge at Crafty Creations Challenge is to include birds, polka dots and the color green on your project.

The pages are 12"x12." I used kraft cardstock for the background. The large oval that is split between the two pages is from George and Basic Shapes and is cut at 10" from a green polka dot cardstock. The pink strips are 12"x2 1/2." The birds are both from Home Decor. The one on the left page is cut at 5." I used green cardstock and cut the bird using the shadow feature. I then cut the bird normally from a pale pink polka dot paper. The bird on the right page is cut at 3 1/2" with the green cardstock and the shadow feature, then regularly with the pink polka dot paper. I cut the legs off this bird though. I used eucalyptus Stickles to fill in all the green cardstock on the bird. The flowers are from Shall We Dance. The flower on the left is cut at 3 1/2" and the bunch on the right are cut at 5 1/2." I ran the leaves of the bunch through the Cuttlebug using the Polka Dot embossing folder. The title is from Hannah Montana, cut at 2 1/2." I used cotton candy Stickles on the "girl." The picture mats are cut at 1/4" larger than the previous layer. On the left page: the top mat is for a 4"x6" picture, the bottom left mat is for a 4"x4" picture and the bottom right mat is for a 3"x5" picture. On the right page: the top mat is for a 4"x6" picture and the bottom three are for 3"x3" pictures. Everything is adhered down to the background with my ATG gun, except the birds, which are pop-dotted.

Little Diva

This is a 5"x5" card. I used some damask patterned paper from the DCWV Black Currant Stack for the base of the card. I cut a piece of off-white cardstock at 5"x2 3/4" and adhered it at the top of the card. I ran a piece of pink ribbon around the card and tied it in a knot. The image is from Shall We Dance. I used the medallion feature with the ballet slippers and cut it at 3 1/2." I then used my Gypsy to hide all the inside cuts so that I would get a blackout version of the medallion and cut that with the off-white cardstock. I used pop dots to mount it to the card and added three pink flower blings to the top. The sentiment is a My Pink Stamper stamp. Quite simple, but quite pretty. Enjoy!!

This was made for the following challenges:
