Headbands

My brother is getting married in a few days, Fourth of July actually, and I got a dress for the wedding, it is black with red accents.  When I was trying to figure out what I was going to do my hair (I am not a "hair" person), I remembered that I had a plain red headband.  However, it isn't the exact shade of red and looks to plain, so I spruced it up!

Before:

After:

I used to black lace and fabric glue to make it a little more unique.

The day before the wedding they are doing a red, white, and blue themed dinner so I thought I would make a headband for that as well.  This is just a cotton fabric I picked up at work (JoAnn Fabric & Crafts).  The pattern says to use two different fabrics to make it reversible, but I just used the same fabric on both sides.

It is held on with a piece of red fold over elastic.

Geek Curtains

My craft room is the only room in the house that did not have curtains.  I have finally rectified this and made some awesome geek curtains.  I got some Star Trek fabric from work (JoAnn Fabric & Crafts) and made these!  The black and chevron fabric is also from JoAnn's.

Like the zombie hands in the window?  Those are cut with Cricut window cling material.  I used a file from the Silhouette Store.  It is called Zombie Hands by Rivka Wilkins (#48133).

What's Kraken?

I just recently got this Lawn Fawn stamp set, called Lovable Legends, and just had to play with it.  I will admit that while it is cute all around, I basically got it for the kraken image and sentiment.  Isn't it awesome?

The card is 5 1/2"x 4 1/4."  I cut a piece of white card stock at 4 1/2"x3" and then used two Distress Inks to color the background: tumbled glass and peacock feathers.  I matted it with dark teal card stock, cut 1/8" wider.  The kraken, sentiment, waves, water spots, and boats are from the Lovable Legends stamp set.  I colored the kraken and boat, then used the coordinating dies to cut them out.  I then added some white gel pen detail to the kraken.

Colorful Cone Collection

I made a collection of eight ice cream cone cards that differ only in their color.

All the cards are 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and made of white card stock.  The colored mat is 4 5/8"x3 3/8" and the white mat is 4 1/2"x3 1/4."  I embossed the white layer with a Cuttlebug folder called Polka Dot Page.

The sentiment is from Jaded Blossom, the Ice Cream Kit stamp set.  I stamped it on a banner cut from a My Craft Spot die.  The image is also from Jaded Blossom, it is called Ice Cream.  I stamped the cone on brown card stock, then used a tea dye Distress Marker by Tim Holtz to add a little detail by tracing the lines.  For the ice cream scoop, I stamped them on different colors of polka dot card stock and used a white gel pen to add some detail.  I fussy cut them out and adhered them at a slight angle over the banner.  I then added sequins of coordinating colors.

The inside has the same sentiment in all of them.  The only difference is the color of the matting, it is the same as on the front of the card.  The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms Stamps.

I used the current challenge sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch for the layout of my card.

Sunshine

A nice summery beach card for this blazing hot day!

The card is 4 1/2"x6 1/4" and made with white card stock.  I cut a piece of white card stock at 4 1/4"x6."  I then used the Tim Holtz Rays stencil to create my sunny background.  I used four Distress Inks on it: squeezed lemonade, wild honey, spiced marmalade, and picked raspberry.

The waves are from the "Word Builders: An Ocean of Words" Cricut cartridge.  The sand is from SVG Cutting Files, it is one of the files from the May Cut Club.

The palm tree is from the "Crocs Rule" cartridge.  I just cut it off the beach to use alone.  I then used some stamps from Scrappy Moms Stamps to create my sentiment.

I made this for the following challenges:
Crafty Creations Challenges: tic tac toe (dies, image, birthday)
Seize the Birthday: sunshine
Cut It Up: sun & surf

Boy's Birthday Cards

I made three cards today that are geared towards little boys.

All three cards are 5 1/2"x4 1/4."  The background mats are all cut using the Card Mat Dies by Jaded Blossom.

The vampire is from the Vampires & Zombies, Oh My! stamp set, as is the "fang-tastic" part of the sentiment.  "Have a" comes from the V is for Villain stamp set and "birthday" is from Supersized Birthday Greetings.  I also used another part of the Card Mat Dies to cut a piece on which to adhere my vampire.

The detective and all the sentiments are from the Top Secret Treats stamp set.  I stamped the words "confidential," "private," and "top secret" on the circle and heat embossed them.  The circles are from the Stitched Circles Dies and the piece on which the sentiment is stamps is from Card Mat Dies.

The knight and coordinating sentiments are from the Knight Bites stamp set.  I stamped them on a piece of card stock cut with part of the Goody Bag Die.

Father's Day Cards

I made the cards I need for Father's Day already.  I feel so prepared!

These shaped cards are both from My Scrap Chick.

The first one is the Sweater Vest Card.

I embossed the sweater with the Argyle Cuttlebug folder.  The collars are popped up with foam tape and I used real buttons.

Both sentiments are from Scrappy Moms Stamps.  The front sentiment is embossed with sliver embossing powder.

This one is the Men's Suit Card.

I inked around the edges of the lapels, collars, and tie with faded jeans Distress Ink.  The collars are popped up with foam tape.  I used a button-shaped brad in place of the button.

I used the same Scrappy Moms Stamps sentiments on this card as well.  The sentiment on the tie was heat embossed with a navy embossing powder.
