h-APE-y Holidays

Today's project is another tag:

The tag is made from the Luggage Tag die by Jaded Blossom.  I cut the larger piece twice and put the patterned papers back-to-back to make it stiffer.

The gorilla is from SVG Cutting Files, it is a file called Chibi Gorilla.  He is cut at 3" tall.  I added a hat, complete with holly, and a present to make it for Christmas.  The hat is from the Cricut cartridge "Teddy Bear Parade."  I used a clear Wink of Stella pen on the white parts of the hat for glitter and shine.  The present is from the "Pooh and Friends" cartridge.  The holly is from the "Tis the Season" Cricut cartridge by Creative Memories.  I sized all the accessories to fit the gorilla.

I used the piece for the gorilla's hand and adhered the "fingers" to the front of the present, then folded the rest of the hand to the back.  I hope it makes it look like he is holding the present.  The snowflakes are from "Teresa Collins - December 25th."  They are cut at 1," 3/4," and 1/2," and covered with star dust Stickles for a little more glitter and shine.  The eyes and holly berries have a dot of white from a gel pen and then are covered in glossy accents.

For the back of the tag I cut a piece of white card stock using one of the Card Mat Dies by Jaded Blossom.  I created the sentiment with a combination of stamps.  The "APE" part is from an alphabet font I have had for many years.  The "h" and "y" parts are from one of the happys on the So Many Birthdays 2 set by Jaded Blossom, I drew in the dashes.  The "holidays" part is from a Fiskars stamp set that I got at JoAnn Fabrics a while back.  The "to" and "from" are from the Fun Money set, also by Jaded Blossom.

I made this for the following challenges:
Fantabulous Cricut: anything but a card
Scrappy Moms Stamps: use a tag

Beach Birthday Cards

I made two similar cards today, one with the Cricut and one with the Silhouette.

Both are 5"x5," made of white card stock, with a cloud mat that is 4 7/8"x4 7/8."

The Cricut card was made with the three different cartridges: "Create a Critter," "Wild Card 2," and "Teddy Bear Parade."  The sun is from "Create a Critter," page 52, with the face hidden in Cricut Craft Room.  It was cut at 3 1/2."  The waves are from "Wild Card 2," page 25.  They were cut to fit the width of the card, 5."  The bear is from "Teddy Bear Parade" and I hid the face of both the bear and the duck inner tube in Cricut Craft Room.  The sand is hand cut.

I gave the bear and duck Peachy Keen faces.  The eyes of the duck are from the Kawaii Face Assortment.  I used a white gel pen to add a little accent to each eye and covered them with glossy accents.  The bear's eyes are from the Cornies Assortment.  I accented them with white gel pens and then covered the entire opening of the face mask with diamond glaze.  The bear's nose and mouth is from the Cute and Cuddly Face Assortment.  I colored in his nose, then accented it with a white gel pen.  I also used a light brown gel pen to color in the mouth.  The nose is then covered with glossy accents.  He is adhered to the card with foam tape.  The sentiment is from the June 2014 Stamp of the Month kit.

The Silhouette card was made with three cut files found in the Silhouette Store.  The sun is called "Echo Park Sun," and is by Echo Park (#55052).  The waves are called "Wave Border" by Silhouette (#1846).  The penguin is called "Penguin Girl Too Cool Summer" by Stinkin' Cute Paper Piecings (#42587).  They were all cut at as close to the same sizes as the Cricut card as I could make them.

I did not cut the sunglasses for the penguin, so that I could use Peachy Keen stamps for her eyes.  They are from the Cartoon Bombshell Face Assortment.  I colored them in with a light blue gel pen, then added some orange and paprika Stickles to her beak.  She is adhered to the card with foam tape.  The sentiment is the same as the other card, from the June 2014 Stamp of the Month kit.

I made this for the following challenges:
BBTB2: use a sun
Fantabulous Cricut: inspired by the outdoors
Peachy Keen: sketch

Eskimo Bear

I only worked half a day today, so I had a little extra time to play around in my craft room, so I wound up making a second card today!  :)  And, I think it turned out pretty cute.  Here it is:
This card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4."  I used a white cardstock for the card base.  I cut some black cardstock at 5 3/8"x4 1/8" and then some patterned paper (from DCWV) at 5 1/4"x4."  I used Elegant Edges for the scalloped oval mat.  Both the shadow and basic parts are cut at 4 1/2."  I added the mats to the card base, then wrapped the mat layers with black polka dotted ribbon.  I used Teddy Bear Parade for the eskimo bear.  It is cut at 3" and I hid the eyes so that I could give her a Peachy Keen face.  With all her layers it comes to about 3 1/4" tall.  I flocked the white parts of the parka and then added Stickles to the mittens and shoes.  I adhered the bear to the card with foam tape.  I then stamped my sentiment on white cardstock and matted it with pink and black cardstock and added it to the card over the ribbon.
I also finished the inside of the card on this one.  I cut some pink cardstock at 5 3/8"x4 1/8," some black cardstock at 5 1/4"x4" and some patterned paper at 5 1/8"x3 7/8."  I then cut more black cardstock at 4"x2 3/4" and some white cardstock at 3 7/8"x2 5/8."  I then stamped my sentiment in rose bud ink by Tsukineko.  Both stamps are from My Pink Stamper.
I made this for the following challenges:

Perfect Sentiments: "Bingo"

Hello everyone and welcome to the second day of our one year birthday/anniversary challenge celebration at The Perfect Sentiment!  We have four fun challenges planned for you that we will spread out over the next few days. We have sponsors who have donated generous prizes for each challenge and since we are doing this blog hop style, there are hidden prizes along the way. The good news is you will have 3 full weeks to complete all the challenges and blog hops. There will also be a grand prize that you will be eligible for if you complete all the challenges! You can see the Grand Prize and add you name to the inlinkz here once your complete all four of the challenges.

The challenge this time is "Bingo"
The challenge: create a card with a sentiment for an occasion or holiday of your choice
The twist: use three items across, down, or diagonally from the Bingo chart
Here is the bingo chart:
My "Bingo" is diagonally - pearls, glitter, and dry embossing.
My card is 4 1/4"x5 1/2."  I used black cardstock for the base.  I cut some orange cardstock at 4"x5 1/4" and then ran it through my Cuttlebug with the Skeleton Scroll embossing folder.  I cut a strip of pumpkin patterned paper at 2"x5 1/4" and some black cardstock 1/8" larger and adhered it to the middle of the card.  The pumpkin patterned paper is from the DCWV Fall and Halloween Stack.  I used Teddy Bear Parade for my cute little pumpkin teddy bear.  He is cut at 3 1/2."  I flocked the bear with some brown flocking powder.  I added orange glitter to the pumpkin treat bag and green Stickles to the green parts of the pumpkin outfit.  I also added some glossy accents to the bear's nose and eyes.  The senitment is from Scrappy Moms Stamps and I hand cut the banner.  I finished off the front of the card with some black pearls on the treat bag and in the corners of the card.

I also finished the inside of this card.  I cut some orange cardstock at 4"x5 1/4," and the pumpkin patterned paper at 3 3/4"x5."  I cut a piece of white cardstock at 2 1/2"x3 1/2."  I stamped another sentiment on the inside as well, again from Scrappy Moms Stamps.

Now head on over to Sam's blog to see what she created for this challenge.  Then be sure to link up your project at The Perfect Sentiment.  I can't wait to see what you create!
