Watt Did You Say?

It seems all I have time for is quick and simple cards, but I am not complaining.  At least I can get some crafting in here and there.  Plus, I have been having some fun with the CAS cards.  Well, this is what I made today:

The card base is 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and made of yellow card stock.  I then cut a black mat at 5 1/8"x3 7/8" and a white mat at 5"x3 3/4."  All the stamps are from Jaded Blossom.

The yellow splatters are from the Paint Splatters 2 set.  I stamped it four times to create a thicker coat of color in the middle.  The light bulb is from the Watts Up set and I added some glossy accents to the shine on the bulb.

The sentiment is also from the Watts Up set.

Beautiful Bow

Here is a quick and simple card I made today.

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and made of dark blue card stock.  The aqua mat is 5 1/4"x4" and I used one of the Cuttlebug folders from James' Set to emboss the stripes.

For the rest of the card I used dies and stamps from Jaded Blossom.

The strip of aqua card stock is cut using one of the dies from the Card Mat Dies set.  I used the largest one and cut a piece of card stock, then lined it up to cut it again, creating the strip.  I used their new set of dies, Bow Dies to create the bow.  I then added an aqua gem to the middle of the bow.  The sentiment is stamped on label, which is from the Mini Tag Dies 2 set.  The sentiment itself is from So Many Birthdays stamp set.  It is stamped in night sky ink by Tsukineko.

The Final Frontier

I had a long day at work and wanted to do something relaxing and enjoyable tonight so I made this card.

The card base is a cut file from SVG Cutting Files.  It is called Center Step Edged Zig Zag Card Base.  I used a stencil and some wild honey Distress Ink by Tim Holtz to create the background.

The spaceship, alien, and astronaut are all from the "Space Party" cartridge.  The moon is from the "Solar System" digital cartridge.  The beam of light coming from the spaceship is a modified part of an envelope from "Wild Card 2."  I cut it out of vellum to give it that transparent look.  The sentiment is from Jaded Blossom, the So Many Birthdays set.

I made this for the following challenges:
The Friday Mashup: birthday theme using stencils
Cardz TV: 3-D birthday card
Die Cuttin' Divas: kid's theme

Lovely Rose

I need to stock up on my sympathy cards so I don't have to make them when I need them.  And I need one now, so I came up with something clean and simple, but I think it is pretty.

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and made of white card stock.  I used the svg outline of the Roses stamp set by Jaded Blossom to cut the grey patterned paper.  I cut the grey paper with a Jaded Blossom die from the Card Mat Dies set.  I then adhered the paper to the card base and stamped the rose in the negative space from the die cut.  The leaves are from the same stamp set.  I trimmed them to fit around the flower and adhered only the ends of them, curling up their edges.  The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms Stamps, the Mini Messages set.

Both the grey paper and the white card stock are cut with dies from the Card Mat Dies set.  I used a stamp from My Craft Spot for the sentiment.  It is stamped in the same ink as the rose.

I made this for the following challenges:

Hog Wild

I had a rare day off, as in totally off - no work, no school - and I made good use of the time by crafting!

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and made of pink card stock.  I used a metal die from Jaded Blossom for the cupcake mat.  It is from the Card Mat Dies set.

I also used a metal die for the pink strip at the bottom of the card, this one from the Panel Dies set.  The sentiment is also from Jaded Blossom, the Party Animal set.  I tied some pink twine through a pink button and added it to the card by the sentiment.

The tag is another Jaded Blossom metal die.  This one is from Luggage Tag Dies.  I adhered it to the card with foam tape.  Both the pig and the cupcake are from SVG Cutting Files.  The pig is a file called Piggy Cookie and the cupcake is a freebie called Cupcake-1.  I obviously didn't cut the cookie and replaced it with the cupcake.  I inked around the edges of all the pig pieces with Victorian Velvet Distress Ink by Tim Holtz.  I covered the cherry and the pig's eyes with glossy accents.  The bows are from the Cricut cartridge "When I Was a Kid."  I sized them to fit my little pig and then covered them with fruit punch Stickles.

I used the same die for the cupcake mat on the inside as I did on the outside.  The white square is also from the same Card Mat Dies set.  The sentiment is Jaded Blossom again, this time the Sweet Birthday Wishes set.

I made this for the following challenges:

Cardz TV: birthday card
The ABC Challenge: pick something that starts with "B" (birthday)
Daring Cardmakers:  party animal
Just Us Girls: use a tag

Hipster Love

How cute is this Valentine?!

The card base is 5"x7" and made of black card stock.  The grey layer is 4 7/8"x6 7/8" and the white layer is 4 5/8"x6 5/8."  I used a stamp from Jaded Blossom, the Heart Splatters set, to create my background.  I stamped the lips repeatedly in pink and red ink.

My adorable little hipster is from SVG Cutting Files.  He is called Chibi Fedora Boy, and I cut him at 4" tall.  The mustache is from "Photo Booth Props," just sized to fit his face.  I used a stamp from Peachy Keen for his eyes.  They are from the In the Garden Babies Face Assortment.  I then added a little blush to his cheeks.  The flowers he is holding are from the "Pooh and Friends" Cricut cartridge.

The hearts are from the "Gypsy Wanderings" digital cartridge.  I hid the cuts on the inside of both hearts so that they were solid.  I then added a little doodling to them in white gel pen.

The sentiment is from Jaded Blossom.  This one is on the Love Mustaches set.

The larger white layer is 4 3/4"x6 3/4," and the red layer is 4 5/8"x6 5/8."  The pink layer is 3 1/4"x5," and the white layer is 3"x4 3/4."  The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms Stamps, from the Crazy for You set.  The heart is from Jaded Blossom, it is on the Heart Splatters set.

Birthday Bear

I needed to make a birthday card for my mom, so I made the time and created this:

The card base is from SVG Cutting Files.  It is called Bracket Card Base, and I used the vertical one.  It is approximately 5 3/4"x4 1/2."  I used the insert shape function in Cricut Design Space to cut the two strips.  The vertical pink one is 5 1/2"x1 1/2."  The second one is 1 3/4"x4."  I used the slice feature to get its edges to match the curve of the card base.  That is such a slick feature!

The oval on which the bear is placed it from the "Sentimentals" cartridge.  It was cut at 4.68"x3.31."  The bear is from KaDoodle Bug Designs.  It is from a set called Yummy Treat Bears.  I cut the bear with the popsicle at about 3 3/4" tall.  I used foam tape to adhere him to the card.  I also used some eyes from Peachy Keen Stamps in place of the ones that are cut out.  I covered the eyes, nose, and popsicle with glossy accents.

I used stamps from Jaded Blossom for the sentiments on both the inside and the outside.  The one on the outside came from the Sweet Birthday Wishes set.  The one on the inside is from So Many Birthdays 2.  I finished off the card with some pink gems in two of the corners.
