Labrador

Two cards in one week!!  I can't believe I managed that, especially since the end of the school year is only a little over a week away.  However, my dad's birthday is in a couple of days so I wanted to make him a card, so I eked out the time.

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4."  I used the Card Mat Dies from Jaded Blossom to cut the paw print card stock.  The mat on which the sentiment is stamped is also from the same die set.

The dog is from SVG Cutting Files.  I used one of the dogs in the Chibi Labrador Pup Dog set.  The bone in its mouth is from the Odie cut file that was part of the Famous Dogs Blog Hop and is no longer available.  I sized it to fit my dog.  I covered the eyes and nose in glossy accents and the bone in crackle accents.  The ears are covered in black flocking powder.`

The sentiment is also from Jaded Blossom.  This one is from the Party Animal stamp set.  I finished off the front of the card with some buttons.

I also used the card mat die for the inside.  I stamped "happy birthday" using another Jaded Blossom stamp.  This one is from the So Many Birthdays 2 set.

Teacup Reindeer

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  I got some time off, but only a little.  Thursday was the only day I didn't have to work or go to school, so yipee!  Today, I just really wanted to do some crafting, so I made this cute little tag:

The tag is from the "Sweet Treats" cartridge.  It is cut at 4.23"x2.38."

The reindeer in the mug is from SVG Cutting Files, it is called Reindeer Mug.  I cut it at 3/18."

The sentiment is from Jaded Blossom, the Hello Deer set.

I finished off the tag with some glossy accents on the eyes and mouth, x-mas red Stickles on the nose, some doodling with a white gel pen, and red gems.

I made this for the following challenges:
Die Cuttin' Divas: tag, bag, or box
Cardz TV: Christmas gift tag

BaDonkey Donk

I managed to fit in some more crafting time today!  So I made this super fun card:

The card base and donkey image are from SVG Cutting Files.  The card base is called Trapezoid Card Base.  It is about 4 3/8"x5 3/4" when folded.

The donkey is called BaDonkey Donk.  I sized the donkey to fit the card, which makes him about 4 3/4" tall.  I covered his hooves, eyes, and mouth with glossy accents.  I used the "Celebrations" Cricut cartridge to create the party hat.  I sized it so that it would fit on the donkey's head.  I added some yellow Stickles to the pom-pom on the hat.  The balloons are also sized to fit.  They are from the "Just a Note" Cricut cartridge (which came already linked to my previous Cricut Expression).

The sentiment is from Jaded Blossom.  It is on the Party Animal stamp set.  I finished off the front of the card with some pink, orange, and green sequins.

Reindeer

I made my first Christmas card of the season today, and here it is:

The card is a cut file from SVG Cuts.  It is part of the Mistletoe Manor set.  I cut it at 5 1/2" wide, which made it about 4 7/8" tall when folded.  The reindeer is glued to the card base at the bottom and the rest of the head is popped up with foam tape for a little dimension.  I also covered the eye in glossy accents.

The sentiment is stamped on vellum that is placed behind the pre-cut hole in the card.  I used a stamp from the Hello Deer set by Jaded Blossom.  I finished off the front of the card with some red bling.

I stamped a sentiment on the inside as well.  This one is from My Craft Spot, the Joy to the World set, which is no longer available.

No-Sew Halloween Costume

We are allowed to wear costumes at work on the weekends in October and on Halloween.  However, you have to have either bought the costumes there or made them using supplies from there.  Since, I am not much of a sewer, especially of apparel, I looked for something made from a t-shirt.  I can usually modify a t-shirt easily enough.  I found this link on Pinterest and thought "I could make that."  And, a few weeks later (since homework and studying take precedence, I can only work on it occasionally), here is my result:

I cut up the t-shirt from the bottom up and did the sleeves the same way.  I then traced two different sized leaves onto felt and cut them out.  I would have loved to use the Cricut or Silhouette, but when I started to work on the leaves I realized that I didn't have enough stabilizer to iron-on the felt.  So, I did it the old-fashioned way.  Let me tell you, that was a lot of cutting!  I then drew the veins on the leaves with marker.  I used a hot glue gun to adhere them to the strips of the shirt.  I used the smaller leaves on the sleeves, and both sizes everywhere else.

I also made a headband to go with the shirt.

I hot glued leaves to the headband.  I then used a piece of wire, already attached to the bird, to attach the bird to the nest.  The nest came on a twig, but I removed it first.  I then hot glued the nest to the headband.

I got all my supplies at work, JoAnn Fabrics & Crafts.  Since it took me so long to create, I will only be able to wear it on Halloween, but I think it will be worth it.

Zombies

Since I don't have a lot of time to craft, but really felt the need to, I created something very quick and simple.

I used a pre-made 5 1/2"x4 1/4" black card for the card base.

I found this image of a zombie herd and used the print then cut feature of the Cricut Explore to print the image and cut the rectangle at 5 1/4"x4."

I stamped the sentiment using four different stamps by Scrappy Moms Stamps.
Stamp sets used:
Birthday Hugs (wishing)
Fan-tastic! (Zomb-ody)
A Haunting We Will Go (Halloween)

I made this for the following challenges:
CASology: cue word - zombie
Scrappy Moms Stamps: Halloween

Peeking Monster

I have been so busy with work and school that the most crafting I have done lately was when I was cutting out paper chromosomes, then taping them to paper to create a karyotype with them.  So, after getting through a couple of tests I felt like I deserved a crafting break.

So, I created another cute Halloween card for you all today!

The card base is a cut file from the Silhouette Design Store.  It is called "5x7 Shutter Card" by Lori Whitlock (#93718).  I used patterned papers from DCWV for my layers, they are from various stacks though.

Frankie is from SVG Cutting Files.  It is called Frankie Pumpkin Peeker.  I added some glossy accents to the bolts and then adhered him with foam tape.

The sentiment and bats are from Jaded Blossom.  The sentiment is from the Halloween Treats 2 set and the bats are from the Halloween Panels set.  I masked off the tree and only stamped the bat.

I made this for the following challenges:
Cardz TV: fun fold card
Scrappy Moms Stamps: pumpkin patch
SVG Cutting Files: Halloween

Fright Night

Here is the fun Halloween card I made today.

It is 4"x8" and made out of black card stock.  I cut purple card stock at 3 7/8"x7 7/8," then grey card stock at 3 3/4"x7 3/4" as mats.  I stamped stars all over the background of the grey mat using a stamp from Jaded Blossom.  It is from the Halloween Panels set, I only inked up some of the stars on the panel with the ghosts.  Then I stamped them repeatedly.  I then used a glitter marker to color in the stars.

The trick or treaters are from the "Autumn Celebrations" Cricut cartridge.  I used foam tape to adhere the witch in the middle and the little guy at the beginning of the line, just for a little dimension.

The haunted house is from the "A Frightful Affair" cartridge.  I stamped the ivory base with a texture stamp from Jaded Blossom, one of the ones on the Halloween Paint Splatters set.  I then cut the moon part again, out of yellow vellum, to cover the ivory color and the stamping.

The banner is from "The First Few Years" cartridge and the stamp is another one from Jaded Blossom.  This time it is from the Halloween Treats 2 set.

I cut some purple card stock at 3"x7" and then some white card stock at 2 7/8"x6 7/8" for the inside of the card.  I used the Halloween Designer Tapes stamp set from Jaded Blossom to create my faux washi tape look.  I fussy cut them out and adhered them to the corners of my mats.  The sentiment is from the Halloween Treats 2 stamp set as well.

I made this for the current challenge at Jaded Blossom, which is Halloween.
