Fall Tree

This is a really simple card, but I really like how it turned out. The card is 4 1/2"x6 1/4." I used yellow cardstock for the card base, then cut some leaf patterned cardstock 1/4" smaller. The leaf cardstock is from Debbie Mumm. I cut a yellow rectangle at 4"x 3" and some tan cardstock the same size. I adhered them onto the card base, with the yellow one slightly askew. The tree is cut at 3 1/2." I used a shimmery orange cardstock for the leaves. I stamped the sentiment in cosmic copper ink by Tsukineko. I finished it all off by edging the tan and yellow cardstocks with copper and yellow Stickles.

More Ladybugs

My cousin and his wife loved all the stuff I made for their daughter's birthday. In fact, I got an email a few days later asking if I would make some more stuff for the party. I agreed and wound up making some matching thank you cards, table centerpieces, some large ladybugs for party bags and a few directional signs so guests know where to go. This is the centerpiece. It will also be where people can place the cupcake toppers if they don't want to keep them. I used quart sized mason jars and put a piece of foam in them. I then stuffed the jar with some green basket grass. I punched a grass border from some green paper, which I then wrapped around the jar. I wrapped all of that with some red and black spotted ribbon. I used Doodlecharms to cut the ladybug, which I adhered to the ribbon. I also gave it some google eyes. I painted some lollipop sticks green and adhered the daisy, cut from Picturesque, onto them. I used my computer for the sentiment, then punched them out with a circle punch. I stuck each flower into the foam to finish off my centerpiece. Each centerpiece has two sides and both sides look the same.

These are the thank you cards I created. They are 4 1/2"x6 1/4." My cousin's wife wanted to be able to put a 4"x6" picture in them of the birthday girl. I made them look like the invites, except that instead of having "you're invited" on them they say "many thanks." I used a stamp for the sentiments on both the outside and the inside. The ladybug is from Doodlecharms, the daisy is from Picturesquet and the leaves are from Mother's Day Boquet.

I also created a 6 1/2" ladybug from Doodlecharms, which will be placed on the gift bags that my cousin's wife has already bought. The signs are made with the same font, Tear Drop, as the Pin the Spot on the Ladybug game and are on the same posterboard. I also cut out an arrow for each sign, but didn't glue it on yet, that way they can be adhered later, when the signs are in place.

Sweet Thank You

This is a 5 1/2"x4 1/4" card. I cut some white cardstock 1/2" smaller, then embossed it with the Thank You folder and my Cuttlebug. I wrapped it with some printed ribbon. I cut a 2 1/2" cupcake from Sweet Treats. I doodled on the cupcake icing and covered it with some glossy accents, I also added some crystal Stickles to the hearts. I used pop-dots to adhere the heart to the cupcake and the cupcake to the card. I used a label Nestie to cut the top portion, then stamped it with my sentiment.

Robot

Another long stretch between posts! I just can't believe how busy I am. I feel like a slacker because I used to post just about every day. Of course, that was when I only worked part time and did little else besides craft. Now I am full-time at my job, I go to the gym for an hour a day three days a week, I have my Tae Kwon Do class two nights a week. Now, I start school next week, so I will be even busier. I will post as much as I can, but I can't promise much. I will have at least my design team stuff for Card Creations & More, so look for those. I did manage to put together this cute little birthday card today.
It is a 5 1/2"x4 1/4" card, and the card base was a pre-made card from DCWV. I cut four 3/4" strips of the diamond plate cardstock, which is from the Guy Stack by DCWV. I then cut them at different lengths. I attached a square brad through the end of each piece and adhered them to the card base. I then cut my little robot from Boys Will Be Boys at 2 1/2." I used some gems for his eyes and a gel pen to draw in the little lines on his display. I stamped my sentiment using lightning black ink by Tsukineko and adhered it to the card base. I used pop-dots to adhere my robot. It is just that simple!

Ladybug Birthday

My cousin's daughter is turning 1 this month and his wife emailed me a little while ago asking if I would make the invites and some of the party decor. I agreed and this is everything I made for it. This 4 1/4"x5 1/2" card is what I made for her actual birthday card. I embossed the red layer with one of the Simply Charmed companion folders. The sentiment is computer generated. I used one of my Nesties to create the label. I sprayed a Prima flower with shimmer mist and used a yellow brad as the center. The ladybug is from Doodlecharms, cut at 2." I then doodled around the labels and the ladybug, gave it some google eyes and added glossy accents to the back of the ladybug.

This is the invite that I made for the party. I had created a variety and this is the one she liked the best. It is 9"x4." I embossed the red layer with the Simply Charmed companion folder. I used my computer to create the party info. The daisy is from Picturesque, cut at 3;" the leaves are from Mother's Day Boquet, cut at 2;" and the ladybug is from Doodlecharms, cut at 1 3/4." I stamped the "you're invited" and added some red Stickles to the hearts on either side of it.

The banner was cut using Birthday Bash for the scalloped and regular circles. They are cut at 6." The font is from Storybook, cut at 4 1/4." The ladybugs are from Doodlecharms, cut at 4 1/2." I added google eyes and some doodling. The daisy is cut from Picturesque at 4 1/4." I embossed the center of the daisy with Swiss Dots.
She also requested a "Pin the Spot on the Ladybug" game. I used some green posterboard for the base of the game. I then cut a daisy from Picturesque as large as I could. I placed it on some white posterboard, then used it to draw out an even larger daisy. I cut the ladybug from Doodlecharms at 10 3/4" (as large as it would go), and used my Gypsy to hide one of its spots. I gave it large google eyes and doodled on it to match the banner. The font is Tear Drop and I used my Gypsy to weld all the letters of the words together. I then added a little bit of doodling to the letters.













The final thing I made for the party was some cupcake toppers. I cut the daisy from Picturesque at 2 1/2," the ladybug from Doodlecharms at 1 1/4" and the leaves from Mother's Day Boquet at 1 1/2." I attached all of that to a popsicle stick so they can put them in the cupcakes.

First of the Month Challenge #18

Challenge #18 for the First of the Month Challenge at Card Creations & More is to create your own background paper. I decided to make a double layout and create my background paper for that. I took two plain white sheets of 12"x12" cardstock, then sprayed them with some coral reef Glimmer Mist. Once that was dry I drew in some swirls using a template by Bazzil. I then went over the swirls with a red gel pen by Sakura and tropical tangerine Stickles. I forgot to take a picture of the paper by itself before I put everything one it, but it look really cool (it still does)!
I am making this as part of my friends' wedding scrapbook. They got married in Belize in June and I was their maid-of-honor. I also created the invitations and the guest book for their reception. So, I also offered to make their wedding album. These pictures are of their rings with a conch and a hibiscus.After the background paper was all dry I cut two strips of the yellow/pink striped cardstock, they are 4"x12." I got the paper from DCWV's Rustic Stack. I matted my largest photo with a coral cardstock, then a yellow cardstock (also from the Rustic Stack). My three photos of the hibiscus are matted with the same yellow. I placed them on the page, then cut the remaining elements with my Cricut. The title was cut using the Cricut American Alphabet, which is one of the pre-loaded cartridges on the E2. I cut the "with this" at 1" and the "ring" at 1 1/2." I used font 1 for "with this" and font 3 (and its shadow) for "ring." I cut the hibiscus from Life is a Beach at 4." I decided to not use the leaves from this cut. The rings are from Designer's Calendar, cut at 1 1/2." They are the rings I used on the invitations. I also added a journalling area, but I will journal later, once I have talked to the couple about what they want to say....this is their album after all.

First of the Month Challenge #17

Challenge #17 for the First of the Month Challenge at Card Creations & More is to create an altered item. I altered some papier mache boxes that I had bought at a JoAnn's when I lived up in Alaska, so I have had these for a while now. This was a fairly simple project. I just cut the paper to fit around the sides of each box and the top of the lid. I used a different paper for the sides of the lid. The paper is all from the Lemon Flower Stack by DCWV. I just love this stack and was so excited to be able to use it for this project. I then used Mother's Day Boquet to create the flower and leaves on top. The pearls and gems in the center of the flower are from Martha Stewart. Nice and simple, but I think it looks fabulous!!

First of the Month Challenge #16

Challenge #16 for the First of the Month Challenge at Card Creations & More is to use the Life is a Beach cartridge. I created a layout of part of a snorkel trip I took when I was in Belize on vacation. This is a 12"x12" layout and I used a glittery teal cardstock for the base of the page. I used my Gypsy to weld three of the wave shapes, from Life is a Beach, together and cut them at 12" long. The shark and swimmer are also from Life is a Beach and both are flipped. The shark is cut at 3 3/4" and I embossed the dark grey layer. I sprayed him with some shimmer mist and gave him some black gem eyes. The swimmer is cut at 2 3/4." I used some blue gems for his bubbles. I matted the photos with the same shimmery blue that I used for the waves. I also used it for the journalling mat. I added some blue gems to the bottom of the journalling mat as well. The title is cut from Robotz at 1 3/4." I used pop-dots to adhere the "H" and the "R" for some dimension. I finished off the page by adding my journalling and some doodling dots on the title and the waves.
