This is my 5th and final card in my Block Party cartridge series. It is also the only one of my five cards to not use a ridiculous pun. I still like it though! ;) Since it is the 4th of July I decided to use the firecracker image on this cartridge and make a patriotic card. Here it is:
The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4." I used white cardstock for the base, then cut some kraft cardstock 1/8" smaller for a mat. I cut some shimmery navy cardstock at 5 1/4"x4" and ran it through my Cuttlebug with the Stars embossing folder. I used Pooh and Friends to cut the two clouds; they are cut at 2 1/2." I also used the shadow feature on them. Once the clouds were glued down I added some diamond Stickles around the edges. The firecracker is cut at 5 1/2." I cut the triangular top piece twice, once from white and once from the turquoise. The turquoise one was cut at 4 3/4." I covered the turquoise top piece in blueberry slush glitter by Martha Stewart, then covered that with glossy accents. I used turquoise Stickles on the stick of the firecracker and diamond Stickles on the white pieces of the firecracker. I attached the firecracker with foam tape, using a double thickness on the tail end of the firecracker. I used a stamp from the Yankee Doodle Dandy stamp set by Scrappy Moms for the sentiment. I then matted it three times, each layer 1/8" larger than the previous layer. I covered the word "fabulous" with glossy accents. I finished off the card with three turquoise pearls. Enjoy!
I made this for the following challenges:
- Cupcake Inspirations: cupcake photo (I used the colors and the clouds as my inspiration)
- Celebrate the Occasion: 4th of July
- Color Throwdown: tempting turquoise, crumb cake, real red, & night of navy
- Die Cuttin' Divas: red, white, & blue
- Fantabulous Cricut: firework, sparkler, or other big "boom" project
- My Craft Spot: 4th of July
- Perfect Sentiments: anything goes with red, white, & blue
- Tuesday Alchemy: anything goes
- Exploring Cricut: 4th of July
A card with real Fizz!
