Share the Spirit

This card is 4"x9."  I used white cardstock for the card base.  I then cut some shiny red cardstock at 3 3/4"x8 3/4."  I cut some red polka dotted cardstock at 3 5/8"x8 5/8.  I wrapped the top part of the card with some glittery red ribbon and some red and white striped ribbon.  I then tied a bow with the striped ribbon and adhered it to the card.  I cut more shiny red cardstock at 3 1/8"x5 1/8" and some white cardstock at 3"x5."  I stamped the sentiment on the white cardstock and embossed it with the Large Snowflake embossing folder by ProvoCraft.  I used a Peachy Keen Stamp for the reindeer and paper pieced it.  I then added some x-mas red Stickles to its nose and glossy accents to the hooves.  I adhered it to the card with foam tape.  I finished off the front of the card with some pearls on some of the snowflakes and three pearls on either side of the bow.

For the inside of the card I cut some shiny red cardstock at 3 1/8"x8 1/8" and some white cardstock at 3"x8."  I used two stamps from the Joy to the World  set by My Craft Spot for the sentiment on the inside.
I made this for the following challenges:

Noel

I thought I would make a Christmas card with some pretty traditional colors.  I used a dark green for the card base, which is 4"x9."  I then cut some white cardstock 1/8" smaller and some red patterned cardstock at 3 3/4"x8 3/4."  I cut a 3 1/4"x3 1/4" dark green square and a 3"x3" white square.  I stamped my Santa in red brick ink by Tsukineko on the white square.  I used the Lacy Banners dies from My Craft Spot for my pennants and circles.  I stamped the letters, using the Chunky Letters stamp set (also by My Craft Spot), on the circles and adhered them to the pennants with foam tape.  I adhered some red and white baker's twine to the pennants and "strung" the pennants to the card with foam tape.  I then tied a couple of bows with the same twine and added them to the ends of the pennants.

Just Hatched

My friend's sister is having a baby soon.  She is a paleontologist, which means she is into dinosaurs, she is also quite a tomboy.  However, she is having a girl.  I made some onesies for her with some baby dinos on the front (which of course I didn't take a picture of).  So, I made a cute little gift bag for them with a matching card.
I used Dino Play for the dinosaurs.  I also used Simply Charmed for the sentiment on the gift bag.  I think they turned out so cute and they are the perfect packaging for the onesies!  Enjoy!!

Ornament Shadow Box

Here is a project I made that I am really loving!
I got a 12"x12" shadow box and some ornaments at work.  I filled the shadow box with the ornaments, mixing them up after I poured them in.  I used my Cricut and the Word Collage cartridge to cut this subway art out of vinyl.  I then adhered the vinyl to the glass of the shadow box using transfer tape.  I love how this one turned out!

Many Thanks

I have a quick and simple thank you card today.  The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4 and made from white cardstock.  I cut some black/grey polka dotted cardstock at 5 3/8"x4 1/8."  I then cut some more white cardstock at 3 5/8"x4 7/8."  I embossed it with a Cuttlebug folder called Baby's Breath.  I tied some yellow baker's twine around the bottom of the white panel, then adhered it to the card with foam adhesive.  I used a Cuttlebug die to cut the word "thanks" out of yellow, silver/grey, and black cardstock.  All the patterned cardstocks came from The Lemon Flower Stack by DCWV.  I finished off the card with a yellow pearl in the middle of my twine bow.

I made this for the following challenges:

Perfect Sentiments: "Piece it Together"

Time for another challenge at The Perfect Sentiment!
The challenge this week is "Piece it Together"
The challenge: create a card with a sentiment for an occasion of your choice
The twist: use your stash of scraps & pieces to create the background of your card
Here is the card I created for the challenge:
My card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4."  I used white cardstock for the base of the card.  I then dug through my stash and picked out 6 pieces of Christmas prints.  I then cut them into strips and pieced them together in a chevron pattern.  I cut that whole piece to the size of 5 1/4"x4."  I used A Quilted Christmas to cut my Santa.  He is cut at 4."  I added some champange Stickles to his belt buckle and adhered him to my card.  My sentiment is from Scrappy Moms Stamps and I hand cut the banner, adhering it to the card behind Santa.  Not really difficult, but I love the look of my pieced background.
I finished the inside of the card as well.  I trimmed some dark green cardstock to 5 1/4"x4" and then some dark red cardstock at 5"x3 3/4."  I stamped my sentiments on some white cardstock, which is cut at 4 3/4"x3 1/2."  The "ho ho ho" sentiment is from My Pink Stamper and the "merry christmas" is from Fiskars.
Now it is your turn to use of some of those scraps and pieces you have in your stash.  Be sure to stop on by The Perfect Sentiment to see what my fellow designers has come up with and then link up your card.  I can't wait to see what you create!

Eskimo Bear

I only worked half a day today, so I had a little extra time to play around in my craft room, so I wound up making a second card today!  :)  And, I think it turned out pretty cute.  Here it is:
This card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4."  I used a white cardstock for the card base.  I cut some black cardstock at 5 3/8"x4 1/8" and then some patterned paper (from DCWV) at 5 1/4"x4."  I used Elegant Edges for the scalloped oval mat.  Both the shadow and basic parts are cut at 4 1/2."  I added the mats to the card base, then wrapped the mat layers with black polka dotted ribbon.  I used Teddy Bear Parade for the eskimo bear.  It is cut at 3" and I hid the eyes so that I could give her a Peachy Keen face.  With all her layers it comes to about 3 1/4" tall.  I flocked the white parts of the parka and then added Stickles to the mittens and shoes.  I adhered the bear to the card with foam tape.  I then stamped my sentiment on white cardstock and matted it with pink and black cardstock and added it to the card over the ribbon.
I also finished the inside of the card on this one.  I cut some pink cardstock at 5 3/8"x4 1/8," some black cardstock at 5 1/4"x4" and some patterned paper at 5 1/8"x3 7/8."  I then cut more black cardstock at 4"x2 3/4" and some white cardstock at 3 7/8"x2 5/8."  I then stamped my sentiment in rose bud ink by Tsukineko.  Both stamps are from My Pink Stamper.
I made this for the following challenges:

Butterfly Snowflake

This card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4."  The first mat is a glittery teal, cut at 5 3/8"x4 1/8."  The second mat is a paisley mat cut at 5 1/4"x4."  I then cut some more of the glittery teal at 4 1/2"x3 1/4."  My final layer is 4 3/8"x3 1/8."  I wrapped the two small layers with a teal ribbon and some white ribbon.  I cut the snowflake from Winter Lace at 3."  I used Cake Basics for the butterfly and cut it at 1 3/4."  I then covered it in glitter and used foam adhesive to adhere it to the card.  I tied a piece of teal ribbon into a bow and attached it to the card.  I finished off the card with a sentiment by Fiskars, stamped in turquoise gem ink by Tsukineko.

I made this for the challenge at Christmas Card Challenges.  The challenge is a recipe: 4 layers, 3 ribbons, 2 designer papers, and 1 butterfly.

My Puppies

Ok, so this isn't a craft related post, but I just had to post anyways.  I got some cute shots of my adorable little Corgis the other day, which is amazing!  They don't usually sit still long enough to get a good shot.  Or at least a cute shot.  ;)

This is Ash, resting on my leg

This is Crash with his chin on the couch, his favorite position for begging for pets

Another Jungle Layout

Since I am not putting titles on these little 8"x8" jungle layouts for my friends it is hard to know what to name the posts!  ;)  This is another one for the little companion album.  I should only have about three or four more double layouts or six or eight singles left.  Depends on exactly which pictures I decide to go with.  Here is the one I came up with for some shots of their kiss in the jungle:
The photos are 3 1/2"x5" and matted with some green cardstock, cut at 3 3/4"x5 1/4."  I used Folk Art Festival for the borders, which are cut at 2 3/4."  I adhered the photos down, then added the borders.  I trimmed them off on the outside edges since they were a little longer than 8" wide.  I covered the hearts on the border with some green glitter, then used foam tape to adhere them for asome dimension.  I also used folk Art Festival for the heart.  I cut it at 4."  I layered it all togher, then cut it in half so that I could put one side on each page.  I then used some platinum Stickles to "color in" the birds within the heart.  The flowers are all from Cricut Essentials, cut at varying sizes from 1 1/2" to 2 1/4."  I used foam adhesive to adhere some of them down as well.

Flower Frame

I work at JoAnn Fabric & Crafts.  Recently we were told that we could start making display items using products we sell in our stores.  I have already made a couple of cards and also a reusable coffee mug that I put some vinyl on for decoration.  This time I decided to make an altered frame.  Here it is:
I used a wooden frame and The Lemon Flower Stack by DCWV for the paper.  I cut a piece to fit the frame, then rounded the corners and cut out the middle.  I then cut some strips of cardstock to cover the sides.  I used my Cricut and the Flower Shoppe cartridge for the flower.  I cut two of one style of flower, one at 3 1/2" and the other at 3."  I then cut three of a second style of flower, one at 3," one at 2 1/2" and the last at 2."  I curled the edges and adhered all the flowers together.  I then added a gem sticker by Martha Stewart in the middle and adhered it to the frame.  I used Flower Shoppe for the leaves as well.  The largest one is cut at 3," the middle one at 2 1/2" and the smallest one is 2."  I used some pop-dots on the two smaller leaves to give them some dimension.  I added the black paper in them middle of the frame just for photo purposes.  I have a little sign that I will put in the frame saying what product was used and my name for when it goes in the store.  Enjoy!

I made this for the "anything but a card" challenge at Tuesday Alchemy.

Perfect Sentiments: "Clean and Simple Fall"

It's Wednesday and that means time for another challenge at The Perfect Sentiment!!
This week our challenge is "Clean and Simple Fall"
The challenge: create a card with a sentiment for fall or Thanksgiving
The twist: make it clean and simple
Here is the card I made for the challenge:
I made the card 4 1/2"x6 1/4" from a brown cardstock.  I trimmed some golden colored cardstock at 4 3/8"x6 1/8."  I cut some more brown cardstock at 4 1/8"x5 7/8."  I then cut some shimmery ivory cardstock at 4"x5 3/4" and then embossed it with the Tim Holtz embossing folder called Thankful Print, by Sizzix.  I cut a strip of brown cardstock at 4 1/8"x2 1/2"  I cut some gold cardstock at 4"x2 3/8."  I used Autumn Celebrations to cut the sentiment at 2 1/4."  I added burgundy and cinnamon Stickles to the red swirl and the word "grateful."  I also added some glossy accents to the word "be."  I used a Marvy Uchida punch for the maple leaf, which I covered with crackle accents and adhered to the card with pop-dots.  Nice and easy!
Now it is your turn to create a clean and simple fall card.  Be sure to link it up at The Perfect Sentiment.  I can't wait to see what you create!

A Little birdie Told Me...

Three more Christmas cards for you today.  These three are all very similar, although not exactly the same.
All three are 4 1/4"x5 1/2."  One of them is tall and the other two long.  I used a shimmery blue pre-made card by DCWV for the card bases.  I then cut some shiny blue cardstock, from the Brights & Jewels Stack by DCWV, at 4"x5 1/4."  The next layer is 1/8" smaller and is from the Arctic Wishes Stack by DCWV.  I wrapped it with some sheer snowflake ribbon that I got at JoAnns last year.  I used Jolly Holidays to cut my birds, which are all cut at 2 1/2."  I used some patterned cardstock from the Arctic Wishes Stack for the birds.  They are all adhered to the card with pop-dots.  I stamped the sentiment on some white cardstock and matted it with the shiny blue cardstock.  I finished off the front of the card with some blue gems, light blue on two cards and dark blue on the other one.

For the inside of the card, I cut more of the shiny blue cardstock at 4"x5 1/4."  I then cut some light blue cardstock at 3 1/2"x3 3/4."  Finally I cut some white cardstock at 2 1/2"x2 3/4" and stamped my sentiment on it.  The sentiments are from My Pink Stamper and are stamped in night sky ink by Tsukineko.

I made this card for the following challenges:

Autumn Wall Hanging

Since my husband and I are hosting Thanksgiving this year I think I need to make my house look the part.  I have my centerpiece and I do have some other decorations, but I thought I needed a wall hanging for next to my front door.  So, I created this:

I used Folk Art Festival for all the cuts on this one.  I cut the apples at 4" using the shadow and blackout features.  I cut all the letters at 3."  The animals are all 2 1/2," except the hedgehog, which is 2."  I adhered the letters and animals with foam tape and pop-dots for added dimension.  I adhered the apples to two pieces of ribbon.  It is hung by more ribbon tied in a bow.  All the papers are from the DCWV Gilded Orchard Stack.

I made this for the challenge at Stuck On U Sketches, which is to use the word "fall" or "autumn."
