Lacy Love
The challenge at Perfect Sentiments this week is to use the photo they provided (you can see it at the bottom right of this post) to inspire your card. When I saw the picture the first thing I was drawn to was the pattern of the tablecloth. That was my inspiration and the basis for this card. I didn't use any of the colors or much else, but I just loved the look of the those lacy flowers on the tablecloth. To create my card I used Wild Card to cut the scalloped card, using the blackout feature. I then put small black brads in each of the scallops. I cut the black lacy doily from Paper Lace at 4." I then cut it again out of red at 3." I cut the shadow feature for it out of white at 3" and out of black at 3 1/4." I covered the red doily in red glitter then adhered all those pieces together. I pop-dotted that part to the card. I then tied some black ribbon in a bow and added it to the card. I covered a heart shaped button with red glitter and added it to the bow. It took me forever to decided on what I wanted to use for my sentiment. I knew I wanted to use "love you" or some derivation of that, I just didn't know what cartridge I wanted to use for it. I finally settled on Opposites Attract. I really liked the look of using both fonts. Then I went back and forth trying to decide which one to put in front, but I finally decided to put the "love" in front. The "love" is cut using the regular font at 1." I covered it in red glitter. The "you" is cut using the opposite font. I adhered the "love" onto the "you" and pop-dotted the whole thing to the card. All the elements really give it a great texture and a lot of dimension. I love how it turned out.I made this for the following challenges:
