This card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4." I used olive green cardstock for the card base. I cut some brown cardstock 1/8" smaller for a mat. I cut a piece of shimmery green cardstock at 4"x2" and embossed it with the Wicker Weave embossing folder. I created the starburst from four patterned papers. You can find the tutorial I used
here. I wrapped the card with some sheer leaf ribbon, which I got at JoAnns last fall. I used Elegant Edges to create my scalloped circle. I used the frame feature to create the shimmery copper and brown part. I stamped my sentiment on the ivory part and then used pop-dots to adhere the frame for some dimension. The sentiment and stamped leaf is from My Craft Spot. I used jumbo java ink by Tsukineko to stamp my sentiment and images. I finished off the card with five pearls that gradually get larger.
I made this for the following challenges:
- Color Throwdown: chocolate chip, really rust, summer sun, cherry cobbler, old olive
- The Friday Mashup: sketch and starburst technique
- 365 Cards: "Day 199" - fall card using five items (five colors and five pearls)
What a great idea to use the challenge colors for the sunburst...this is beautiful!!!! Thanks for joining us for the Color Throwdown Challenge!!!
