This CAS card is 4 1/4"x5 1/2." I used a grided blue card stock for the card base. The white mat was created using the Silhouette Studio. I printed out the sentiment, created with two fonts, then cut the bottom of the mat. The bottom was created with a wave border by Stiknin' Cute Paper Piecings (#42856). I used only one of the borders, the top one when looking at the file. I like how the waves are colored by the base of the card using the negative space from the cut border.
The whale tail is from Hero Arts (#13533). The actual cut is, in fact, a whole whale; I erased all but the tail, which is what I wanted. I also kept the water drops and adhered them above the tail to look like a splash from the whale diving down under the water.
I made this for current CASology challenge. Their cue word this week is "splash."
Great!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great CAS design! I love the negative space waves too! The mixture of fonts in the sentiment adds some nice interest on this!

The sentiment I love it and the Idea of the Whale with the splash of water is Clever....great take on the Cue Card and I love the simplicity of your card...and I love the sentiment too...looks elegant...I think I see the winner here.. and good luck with the challenge dear Paula..
