I absolutely LOVE how this card turned out!!! :) It is a really non-traditional Valentine and totally inspired by my favorite TV show. You have my utmost respect and admiration if you can name what the show. I will tell you at the end for those of you not in the know.
The card is 4 1/2"x6 1/4." The card base is black cardstock and the white mat is 4 3/8"x6 1/8." The damask cardstock is 4 1/4"x6."
The smiley face is cut from my Silhouette Cameo. It is about 2" tall. I covered it in two coats of UTEE, since I wanted it to look shiny, like it was drawn on with spray paint.
I used my Cricut and Sans Serif to create the sentiment. I cut the letters at 3/4" and hand cut the white rectangles to fit each letter. This card actually had a lot of texture, not just the shiny smiley face, but also the damask cardstock - it is flocked.
I don't know if I will give this to my husband for Valentine's Day next year or if I should give it to him to give to ME! ;) I got him into the show too, but I don't think he is quite as obessessed about it as I seem to be. Oh, for those of you who don't know what TV show I am talking about, it is "Sherlock." It is a BBC show, but it plays on PBS in the States and you can find it on Netflix. I highly suggest you check it out!
I made this card for the following challenges:
- 365 Cards: "Day 44" - love (use the word love and is inspired by a show I love)
- The Friday Mashup: use texture
- Celebrate the Occasion: Valentine's, anything goes
- Fantabulous Cricut: Valentine card or project
- Exploring Cricut: be my Valentine
- My Craft Spot: make something for your sweetheart
So cute! Lee-Ann :)
