Armadillo

I made this card following the recipe from today's challenge at 365 Cards. The recipe is: 4 1/4"x5 1/2" card, stamp (digi, rubber or clear), rhinestone or pearl, fringe of some sort and sentiment of your choice. I used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches to lay out my card. My color combo is this weeks color challenge at Picture Perfect Creations: bravo burgundy, river rock, perfect plum, wild wasabi. Finally, Scrappy Mom's Stamps is starting challenges now too. This is their first one and they challenged you to use the Birtday Bash Cricut cartridge to create a project.
Well, this card is 4 1/4"x5 1/2" as the recipe called for. I used a beige colored cardstock for my card base. I then cut a green piece of cardstock at 4"x5 1/4." The red rectangles are cut at 1 1/4"x3 3/4." I then embossed them with the Tiny Mosaics folder. I also cut a fringe on one side of each of them. The diamond shape is cut from George and Basic Shapes, at 5," I used the shadow function for the purple diamond and the regular function for the white one. I embossed the white one with the Tiny Mosaics folder as well. The two circles are cut with an EK Success punch and then I stamped them with a flower image, using olive ink by ColorBox. The armadillo is cut at 2 1/2" from Birthday Bash. Instead of using the piece for his ears and cheek I inked them instead, with pink pastel ink by ColorBox. I then used a marker to highlight the edges of the inking. I also decided to use some google eyes instead of the paper pieces because I thought it looked more fun on him. I cut the 61 from Birthday Bash as well, at 1." I used a white gel pen to do some doodling on my pieces. The armadillo is pop-dotted to the card for dimension. I finished the front of the card off with some purple flat-backed pearls near the white circles. The inside of the card has purple cardstock cut at 4"x5 1/4" and white cardstock cut at 3 3/4"x5." I did some more doodling around the edges with my white gel pen and stamped the sentiment in olive ink again. The stamp is from Hero Arts.
