New Year's Craft Resolutions

I had been thinking about making some New Year's resolutions regarding my crafting, but I never really got around to it. However, this week there are a couple of challenges regarding New Year's resolutions, so I thought it was the kick in the butt I needed. Crafting with Cristina has a challenge to make a layout of either your favorite 2010 memories or your 2011 resolutions. I don't have any photos printed of my favorite 2010 memories, maybe I will do that at a later time, so I decided to work with the 2011 resolutions. Papercraft Star's challenge is to use one of your resolutions to create a project. My resolutions are:
  1. Use the paper and supplies I have on hand.
I tend to buy too many supplies and then never actually use them, so I want to make sure I start using them, especially paper....I have WAY too much right now.
  2. Do more scrapbooking.
I have been neglecting my scrapbooking and focusing more on cardmaking, so I want to get some more scrapbooks done.
  3. Use all my Cricut cartridges.
I have A LOT of cartridges and I need to start using them, especially the ones that have been just sitting there collecting dust.
  4. Try new folds & techniques on cards.
When I am doing my cardmaking I need to try some new techniques or folds. I have been sticking to the basic side or top fold so I need to expand.
  5. Keep my craft space clean & organized.
This one could be troublesome. I have it all organized now, but I tend to stop cleaning it after a while or not keeping stuff where I designated the space for it. I need to make sure I keep it up.
I made an 8"x8" layout for this challenge. I thought it would be nice to be able to hang it up on my wall and have it there as a reminder. The resolutions are written on a piece of cream cardstock that is 3"x5," I layered it with some blue cardstock that is 3 1/4"x5 1/4" and some glittery yellow cardstock that is 3 1/2"x5 1/2." I wrapped some brown ribbon around the page and cut out the word inspire from Home Accents at 2." The leaves are also from Home Accents at 1 1/2." I used the regular and shadow feature on both of them. "Crafty Resolutions" is cut from Gypsy Font and I welded the shadow and the regular feature together on my Gypsy. All the paper is from the DCWV Latte Stack and I used some DCWV Latte stickers for some accents. I haven't even touched this paper stack since I got it, so it was nice to finally use it for a project.

  1. You did a great job with this challenge. I love all the colors you used. I don't know if you hand wrote your list or printed out on your computer..either way the font is so pretty! If that is your hand writing then my hats off to you!!! You totally inspired me to get out my Home Accents cart, love those leaves. I tend to forget what is on all the carts, and they get neglected. I think I will join you and make number 3 one of my resolutions too:) Thanks for sharing such an inspiring LO.

  10. Paula,

Your page turned out beautifully!!! :) As a fellow crafter, I can totally relate to your resolutions! Just writing them down, I think you'll be more likely to follow them. But it will look nice hanging and as you said, be a reminder to follow them.

Thank you so much for sharing,

    Jennifer
